Blizzard has announced Season 10 of Diablo 4, titled Infernal Chaos, which will go live in the action RPG on September 23. Along with a new boss and a fresh endgame mode, Diablo 4 players can also look forward to earning class-specific Chaos Perks, taking on terrifying Chaos Rifts, an action-packed seasonal quest, and much more in the highly anticipated major update.
Fans of Blizzard's 2023 title have been eagerly awaiting fresh content, as in late July, it was confirmed that the next major update coming to Diablo 4 would be the launch of Season 10. Sins of the Horadrim, Season 9, was launched on July 1, bringing with it new features like seasonal micro-dungeons known as Horadric Strongrooms, Horadric Spells, and the Nightmare Dungeon Challenge dubbed Escalating Nightmares. As enjoyable as these additions have been, after nearly three months, players are ready to tackle new content in the live service romp, and Blizzard has provided plenty of information about the massive update right around the corner for Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 Players May Be Accidentally Shooting Themselves in the Foot Without Realizing It
Understanding how all of Diablo 4's stats work can be complicated for new players, making it easy to unintentionally sabotage a build.
Diablo 4 Season 10, Infernal Chaos, Launches on September 23
In a lengthy blog post that went live during Blizzard's Developer Update livestream on September 16, the studio shared everything that players can expect in Diablo 4 Season 10, including a new gameplay trailer. Scheduled to be released on September 23, Infernal Chaos will invite fans to hunt down powerful Chaos Armor, which adds a twist on Uniques, while also building seasonal reputation to unlock class-specific Chaos Perks, which can alter builds in significant ways. Bartuc, the former Warlord of Blood, will return to Sanctuary as the Lord of Chaos and a new boss for players to defeat. Additionally, Chaos Rifts will offer players huge rewards once they are sealed. These will open across Helltides and Nightmare Dungeons.
Season 10 will also reboot Diablo 4's Infernal Hordes endgame content, with the wave-based mode becoming even tougher. At the end of 2024, Infernal Hordes drew ire from fans after a major glitch made it impossible to finish matches in couch co-op mode. This issue popped up after the release of the Vessel of Hatred DLC, which introduced the Spiritborn class. Many quickly dubbed this the most overpowered class in the game, though an October 2024 patch nerfed the character significantly.
At the end of August, Blizzard found itself in the news in a big way, as over 450 Diablo developers voted to unionize. This promises to offer greater protection for the staff following a wave of recent layoffs at Microsoft, and may pave the way to more benefits and improved wages. In July 2024, hundreds of World of Warcraft developers also unionized.
