Sorcerers are riding high in Diablo 4 Season 10 as one of the best overall class options for meta builds this season. Part of what makes the Sorcerer so good in Diablo 4 Season 10 is the existence of the Mana Shield Chaos Perk, which can make the class nearly invincible. However, to really maximize their damage output, players will want to hunt for one of Diablo 4's rarest items to finish off their gear setup, regardless of what build they are going for.
When it comes to gearing up for Diablo 4 Season 10's endgame content, players are going to want to invest in a few Mythics to complement their build's playstyle. Most Diablo 4 Mythics are universally beneficial, but there are a few standouts that take priority over other potential gear slot items. Even with Diablo 4 Season 10's Chaos Armor mechanic, the Harlequin Crest should still be utilized in the helm slot by nearly all Sorcerer players due to the way it elevates the class's offensive and defensive capabilities.
Diablo 4 Season 10 Sorcerers Can Take Full Advantage of the Harlequin Crest Mythic
The Harlequin Crest, also known as the Shako from Diablo 2, is one of the most iconic pieces of gear in the series. There are a couple of ways to get the Harlequin Crest in Diablo 4: farming Lair Bosses or crafting the Mythic. While all Lair Bosses have a chance to drop the Harlequin Crest, Belial has by far the highest chance for players on Torment 4 difficulty. Alternatively, players can craft the Harlequin Crest by visiting the Jeweler and spending the following resources:
- 6 Lac Runes
- 6 Eom Runes
- 6 Ton Runes
- 2 Resplendent Sparks
Diablo 4's Mythic Harlequin Crest is Worth the Investment for Sorcerers
-
Harlequin Crest
- +20.0% Cooldown Reduction
- +1850 Maximum Life
- +18 Maximum Resource
- +2500 Armor
- Unique Affix: Gain 20% Damage Reduction. In addition, gain +4 Ranks to all Skills.
Across the board, the Harlequin Crest's affixes are a fantastic upgrade for the helm slot on any Diablo 4 Sorcerer builds. The blanket 20% damage reduction from the Harlequin Crest's Unique Affix helps keep a generally frail class like the Sorcerer alive, but this is less necessary thanks to the Mana Shield Chaos Perk in Season 10. What's more important are the +4 Ranks to all skills and 20% Cooldown Reduction, which give the Sorcerer's offensive capabilities a substantial buff when equipped.
Why the Harlequin Crest is a Game-Changer for Sorcerer Builds in Diablo 4 Season 10
In order to maximize the utility of the Harlequin Crest in Diablo 4 Season 10, players will want to Masterwork it so that all affix upgrades go into Cooldown Reduction. Having reduced cooldowns is huge for the Sorcerer's offensive skills, since several builds rely on having Ultimates readily available. Hydra Sorcerers can essentially spam Inferno, as Crackling Energy Sorcerers can do with Unstable Currents, when Cooldown Reduction is at max.
Another reason for having Cooldown reduction maxed out in Diablo 4 Season 10 is to ensure the Sorcerer's Teleport is always available. A core part of the Sorcerer's combat loop is repositioning to avoid danger using the class's best mobility option in the Teleport skill, so nearly every Diablo 4 Sorcerer build will utilize this skill.
Other defensive skills on a cooldown, like Flame Shield and Ice Armor, can also benefit from this Diablo 4 Mythic, essentially allowing players to keep them active at almost all times. The synergy between Mana Shield and having these defensive skills active nearly constantly will contribute to the Sorcerer's excellent survivability in Season 10, allowing an investment in the Harlequin Crest to pay dividends.
With the Teleport Enchantment, the Sorcerer's evade is replaced with a Teleport on a 1.2-second cooldown, but the Teleport doesn't make the player Unstoppable.
