Diablo 4 Associate Game Director Zaven Haroutunian has excited fans after suggesting that "Everyone should be watching" The Game Awards on December 11. The comment has drawn some speculation that Diablo 4 could be set for some kind of announcement at The Game Awards.

There was some suggestion that Diablo 4 could reveal a second expansion in December last month, after a data-mined message in Simplified Chinese suggested something was coming on December 12. Close proximity to The Game Awards on December 11 made this a natural assumption, although it has since been confirmed that this was simply Diablo 4's long-awaited arrival in mainland China.

Diablo 4 players may need to ditch certain builds when Season 11 hits, since patch 2.5.0 will quickly make them outdated in the meta.

Diablo 4 Dev Tells Fans That 'Everyone Should Be Watching' The Game Awards

However, during a recent interview with content creator Rob2628, Associate Game Director Zaven Haroutunian has sparked even more speculation about the possibility of Diablo 4 appearing at The Game Awards this year. When questioned by Rob about whether Diablo fans should take a particular interest in this year's event, Haroutunian notably sat up in his chair and stared directly into the camera, giving a fairly coy response, saying, "Everybody should be watching." It certainly doesn't give too much away, but it's enough to leave fans excited about what could potentially be coming on December 11.

It wouldn't exactly be unprecedented. Diablo 4 has a history with The Game Awards. It debuted a World Premiere Trailer at TGA 2022, while it appeared as a nominee in both 2023 and 2024 for multiple categories. If Blizzard wants to continue that run for another year, then a potential expansion two reveal doesn't seem to be out of the question. Of course, it's important to take this with a pinch of salt, as Haroutunian hasn't actually promised a Diablo 4 TGA 2025 appearance.

Whether Blizzard announces the second Diablo 4 expansion at The Game Awards or not, it's long overdue. It came as a surprise when the developer confirmed that Diablo 4's next expansion won't arrive until 2026, as plans had previously been for annual releases. An upcoming reveal is certainly an exciting prospect for fans, and hopefully the developer has something up its sleeve on December 11 ahead of Diablo 4's China launch a day later.
