After several seasons of mediocrity, Diablo 4's Rogue class is finally getting its time in the spotlight once again in Season 10. The Season of Infernal Chaos has one of the most diverse metas Diablo 4 has seen to date, with most classes having at least one S-tier build option available to them thanks to the addition of Chaos Armor and Chaos Perks. The Rogue is no exception, but not many would have expected the class to be as strong as it is in Season 10.
In the past few Diablo 4 seasons, the Rogue has suffered from a lack of build-defining new Uniques. Death Trap Rogue was the only real option for Season 8 with the addition of the Bands of Ichorous Rose Unique Gloves, and Season 9's Deathmask of Nirmitruq didn't do any favors for the Rogue at the time. With the new Diablo 4 Season 10 Orphan Maker Unique looking to be another miss for the class, the fact that the Rogue is one of the best options this season flips expectations on their head, and players ultimately benefit as a result.
Diablo 4's Rogue is Surprisingly Excellent in Season 10
The Rogue's limited meta Unique options aren't an issue in Diablo 4 Season 10, with Chaos Armor allowing Rogues to equip gear combinations not previously possible. Without gear slot limitations, Rogue can equip Uniques like the Band of Ichorous and Grasp of Shadow at the same time, opening the door for more powerful build combinations. Additionally, with the introduction of Chaos Perks, the Rogue gets access to even stronger abilities that synergize very well with the Rogue's Uniques.
Marred Guard and A Beast Cornered are two Chaos Perks that lend themselves very well to the Rogue's playstyle, making them near-universally good for Rogue builds.
How The Rogue Defied Expectations in Diablo 4 Season 10
While these Season 10 mechanics make the Rogue a viable class in the meta, what really makes the class S-tier is how effective it is in dealing with Diablo 4's endgame content in the Season of Infernal Chaos, particularly the Infernal Hordes. The reworked Infernal Hordes mode and its frenetic gameplay from Chaos Waves and Bartuc, Lord of Chaos, means that builds that are fast and agile will see the most success. The Rogue is Diablo 4's poster child for a quick class with a host of movement options available to it, making it ideal for capitalizing on Infernal Hordes' best Aether farming strategy.
The Rogue Has Several S-Tier Builds in Diablo 4 This Season
- Death Trap Rogue
- Dance of Knives Rogue
- Flurry Rogue
- Heartseeker Rogue
Death Trap Rogue is once again one of the class's best options in Diablo 4 Season, largely due to Scoundrel's Leathers and Beastfall Boots being Chaos Armor. With these Uniques and the Rogue's Preparation Specialization, players can essentially spam Death Trap with a short cooldown for the Ultimate. Players looking for a powerful, one-button Rogue build can utilize the Dance of Knives Rogue's Hit and Run Unique Chaos Perk along with the Fists of Fate Chaos Unique to consistently deal massive damage while channeling Dance of Knives.
Deathmask of Nirmitruq makes Flurry Rogue a much better build option in Diablo 4 Season 10 than last season, thanks to how well the Unique synergizes with the Power Siphon Chaos Perk and Siphoning Strikes passive. This setup allows the Rogue to spam Flurry for increased damage without the drawback of Power Siphon's reduced maximum resource pool, since it pulls from the Rogue's health pool instead.
Heartseeker Rogue is an all-around solid build that takes advantage of several powerful Chaos Uniques like the Crown of Lucion, Paingorger's Gauntlet, and Fists of Fate, along with the Shard of Verathiel and the powerhouse duo that is Marred Guard and A Beast Cornered to juggle huge Heartseeker and Shadow Clone damage output. With several fantastic build options available to them in Diablo 4 Season 10, Rogue fans are spoiled for choice and have a sturdy foundation for whichever direction they want to take a build.
