Diablo 4 has encountered some technical issues that will cause the release of Vessel of Hatred to be slightly delayed. While Diablo 4 still plans to have Vessel of Hatred go live soon, players may have to wait a couple more hours to dive into the DLC.
Vessel of Hatred is Diablo 4’s first expansion pack. Picking up where the original story left off, players will explore the iconic Nahantu region as they retrace the steps of Neyrelle on her Diablo 4 quest to destroy Mephisto once and for all. Beyond that, Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred also adds the Spiritborn, a brand-new class that wields a double-sided glaive and powerful animal spirits to decimate foes.

Unfortunately, it seems like fans might have to wait a little longer to start the new expansion. Though it originally planned to release Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred on October 7 at 4 PM PDT for all regions and platforms, community manager PezRadar confirmed the launch would be slightly delayed in a post on the Blizzard forum. He revealed that Diablo 4 had identified a small technical issue that got in the way of the release, and while the delay shouldn’t be long, players may have to wait a little bit to make sure Vessel of Hatred can launch on all platforms without problems.
When Will Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Be Playable?

As of the original release time, fans will be unable to log into Diablo 4 until Vessel of Hatred fully launches. Players already logged in before then will still be able to play on Diablo 4 Patch 1.5.2 for a short while, though they will eventually be booted from the server to let Blizzard prepare things for Vessel of Hatred.
At press time, there is no word on exactly how long this delay will be, but PezRadar said Blizzard still expects the expansion to launch before the end of October 7. With luck, the launch of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred will only be delayed by an hour or two, but fans may need to be patient if it takes a little longer than that.
Despite the delayed launch, fans should still be able to start progress on their Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Twitch Drops at 4 PM PDT. Players can hop into their favorite Diablo 4 content creator’s Twitch stream and pass the time by chatting with their fellow fans until the actual launch, all while working towards unlocking some awesome new cosmetic items.
