Diablo Immortal has officially begun Shadow of the Frozen Throne, a World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King-inspired collaboration. From now until July 26, Diablo Immortal fans can obtain several Frostmourne-themed cosmetics by participating in this crossover event.
Frostmourne is one of the most iconic weapons in World of Warcraft history. The Legendary weapon led Arthas Menethil to fall and become the Lich King, who then acted as the final boss of Wrath of the Lich King – one of the most popular World of Warcraft expansions.
Diablo Immortal's Blood Knight Sends a Clear Message for Any Future Diablo 4 Classes
Diablo 4 should embrace more original classes, like the Blood Knight in Diablo Immortal, in order to set itself apart in the RPG genre.
Now, Diablo Immortal fans can claim this iconic World of Warcraft weapon for themselves. The Shadow of the Frozen Throne is a new limited-time crossover event between World of Warcraft and Diablo Immortal. From now through July 26, players can find Frozen Gates all over the game world, each of which contains a special instance full of ice-themed monsters. While inside, characters also get the Chill of the Frozen Throne buff that increases damage and raises enemies to fight for them. Participating in this event allows fans to unlock several Frostmourne-inspired cosmetics, including the cursed blade itself.
Diablo Immortal x World of Warcraft Crossover Features
- From July 4 through July 26.
- Frozen Gates spawn throughout Sanctuary that are full of icy enemies.
- A new buff called Chill of the Frozen Throne, which increases damage and raises corpses as undead warriors after every five monsters killed.

Cosmetic rewards:
- Icecrown Frame – Log in once during the event.
- Frostmourne Weapon Cosmetic – Complete the event.
- Icecrown Pathway Portal – Make one real money purchase before the event ends.
Players earn the Icecrown Frame simply by logging in to Diablo Immortal sometime during the event, and the Frostmourne Weapon Cosmetic by completing the event. Dedicated fans can also obtain a special Icecrown Pathway portal by making at least one real money transaction during the event. Players who make the requisite purchase can claim this special reward starting July 11 the first time they log in, so they should be sure to pick the Diablo Immortal character and class they want to use it for.
Diablo Immortal isn’t the only version of Sanctuary that might be getting Frostmourne, however. Recently, two models resembling Frostmourne were discovered in Diablo 4 as well. While it is currently not known when or if these items will be obtainable within Diablo 4, it is possible they could be a part of a currently-unannounced event, or through the in-game store like the matching Invincible Aspect mount cosmetics were in October 2023. While fans shouldn’t get their hopes up until Blizzard says something official about these models, they can at least wield Frostmourne in Diablo Immortal right now.
