In Digimon Story: Time Stranger, there are various ways to Fuse and evolve your Digimon that involve merging various of your Partners into a more powerful version. However, since the game has over 400 Digimon to befriend and train, knowing which are available for fusions and cross-evolution can be tricky.
Plus, with so many different types of Digivolutions (including DNA/Jogress), players will be wasting lots of time with trial and error. So, in this guide, they will find all the information regarding the different types of Fusions, DNA Evolutions, and how to distinguish them. This also includes the Fusion Enhancement guide, so that players know what this feature is about.
What is DNA Digivolution (or Jogress Evolution) in Digimon Story: Time Stranger?
The term DNA Digivolution, also known as Jogress, is a fusion between two Digimon that can be Permanent or Temporary, meaning that it happens during Combat and lasts for only one turn, consuming the turn of both Digimon involved but launching a powerful attack. The Temporary version of the DNA Digivolution is somewhat a hidden feature in the game, which players will only learn about by trial and error.
Some Digimon that are enabled for DNA Digivolution will have some strange symbols in their skills, meaning they can lead the DNA Digivolution during combat by picking one of the secret techniques that become unlocked once their Jogress partner is present in the same team. The only requisite for this is that they must be compatible, and they must be both on the Active Party and not in the Reserve.
Now, for the Permanent Jogress Evolution, two Digimon become one through the Divivolution Feature, and they both merge into one. Resetting to level 1, but becoming permanently bound as a single individual. These powerful Jogress Evolutions are, for example: Omnimon (WarGreymon+MetalGarurumon), Examon (Slayerdramon+Brekdramon), and Mastemon (Angewomon+LadyDevimon). But there are many other Jogress available in the game, so players need to be keen as to which Digimon they train, so that they can reach the end game having at least one of these Jogress Evolutions available.
All Jogress Evolutions in Digimon Story: Time Stranger
Digimon Story: Time Stranger has a ton of different evolution types, and Jogress are the strongest of them all, with Digimon overcoming the limits of the Mega level even more than with the Burst Mode or Armor Digievolution. Each Jogress evolution in the game has certain requirements, and most of them depend on the personality type of their Digimon. Shifting each of the needed Digimon into a specific Personality can be burdensome, but players can also use methods like the DigiFarm to speed up the process.
The following is a list of all Jogress Evolutions in Digimon Story: Time Stranger, and it includes the prerequisites for them to be activated in combat (Single Turn) or permanently through the Digivolution feature:

Remember to check the list of Digimon in the box frequently, as some of these cannot be obtained later on the adventure, and players can get locked out of some evolution lines and Jogress options due to this. De-volving Digimon until reaching one of the In-Training Digimon required to reach other evolution lines is always an option, so take that into consideration as well.
There are some Jogress Digimon that are currently unavailable in the game, like Apocalymon, that can be obtained by evolving Piedmon or Puppetmon. This might be due to the requisites for this Jogress being to merge four Digimon (Piedmon+Puppetmon+Machinedramon+MetalSeadramon) into one. Same with the case of Fanglongmon (Fuanglongmon), which requires merging the four Divine Beast Digimon (Azulongmon, Byakkomon, Ebonwumon, and Zhuqiaomon), which are not present in Digimon Story: Time Stranger.
This list is under construction. Please be aware of incoming changes as new information is found about the available Jogress Evolutions in Digimon Story: Time Stranger.
What is Digimon Fusion (Enhancement) in Digimon Story: Time Stranger
Digimon Fusion or Enhancement Loading is a way to merge several Digimon to reinforce a single one. The Talent a Digimon has is the level cap that Digimon is going to reach. By Fusing various spare Digimon with the one players want to reinforce, it will gain strength, stats, level, and raise its Talent/Level Cap. That way, players can take their Partner Digimon to the highest levels of power, most of them required for the most powerful evolutions in the game. To use the Load Enhancement feature, follow these steps:
- Open the Digivice Menu (X on Pc, Triangle on PS, Y on Xbox).
- Rotate to the Digimon Tab and select it.
- Scroll down to 'Load Enhancement.'
- Select the Digimon to reinforce.
- Now, in the new menu, select the Digimon used as 'sacrifice.'
- The selected Digimon will be lost, and the first Digimon will be reinforced.
The maximum level Cap is 99 per Stage, meaning that if players take a Digimon to level 99 Stage by Stage, they will probably get a more powerful version of said Digimon each time they evolve it. Some Digimon have higher innate talent than others; even the same Digimon can have varying Talent levels.
Now, the higher a Stage is for a Digimon, and the higher its Level/Talent is, the more power it will grant to the core Digimon players want to reinforce. For example: Two in-training Digimon at Level 1 will grant less Exp and Talent than a Rookie at Level 1. Champion and Ultimate Digimon used to fuse with a lower Stage Digimon will also bring more benefits than merging lower stage Digimon into a higher stage one.
Some Digimon are easier to get (farming Data) than others, so it is highly recommended that players fill their box with a steady amount of spare Digimon to perform Enhancement in the later stages of the game.
