In the final part of Digimon Survive's Wrathful Route, players must deal with the consequences of Aoi and Labramon's biomerge at the end of the previous part, while also trying to rescue Miyuki from the Master and finally bring an end to the Master's scheme.

This part of Digimon Survive opens in the Cafeteria at the Old School, where the Professor has prepared a meal of dubious quality in an effort to help out. Everyone is in agreement that Aoi's plan, while well-intentioned, is a recipe for disaster and must be stopped at all costs.

Exploration!

Digimon Survive_Cafeteria_Chapter 12 Wrathful

This final part of Digimon Survive does not have a Free Action segment, with the group instead heading right for the Old Shrine after their meal. Players can head to the Woods by the Shrine and the Inner Shrine Entrance to search for items using the phone camera, but the main event awaits at the Inner Shrine.

Free Battle

The Free Battle here offers players a chance to fight HerculesKabuterimon, Megakabuterimon, Jewelbeemon, Dinorexmon, Triceramon, Spinomon, GranKuwagamon, and Okuwamon.

Inner Shrine

Digimon Survive_Minoru Inner Shrine_Wrathful Part 12

Minoru is here with the Professor and is clearly nervous about the upcoming battle. Takuma now has the opportunity to try to encourage Minoru.

Bet you're just cold.

No Effect.

Heroes get scared too.

Minoru Affinity Up!

Want me to smack you?

No Effect, you Monster.

After speaking to Minoru players should interact with the path ahead, behind the monument in the middle of the Shrine, to head further in.

Under Shrine

Digimon Survive_Miu Under Shrine_Wrathful Part 12

In this new area, players will find Miu. She's worried about whether the group will make it home and asks Takuma if it is even possible. Takuma considers how to answer:

There's no way.

No Effect, you Monster.

Let's flip a coin.

No Effect.

We'll go to a park!

Miu Affinity Up!

After speaking with Miu, players can inspect the door leading further in to continue. This will trigger a scene with Renamon/Haru where they express shock that the barrier blocking the path further down has been destroyed.

Deep Under Shrine

Digimon Survive_Wrathful Part 12_Professor Mural 1

Players should inspect the wall on the left to ask the Professor if he's uncovered anything new about the murals down here. Unfortunately, there is nothing more he can add at this time and so the only thing left to do is continue downward by inspecting the door Plutomon forced open.

Shrine Lowest Lev.

Digimon Survive_Part 12 Wrathful_Professor Mural 2

Investigating the wall on the right will cause the Professor to note its implications, namely that the two worlds were once one. The Mural on the left suggests that Humans and Kemonogami (Digimon) once lived in the same world and that each pair of a human and a monster are "two halves of the same soul." After triggering this dialog players can head onward into the darkness by interacting with the path ahead, but players can also head back out to the world map to unlock a new Free Battle.

Free Battle 2

This new Free Battle offers players a chance to meet Zudomon, Plesiomon, MarineAngemon, Deramon, MagnaAngemon, Magnadramon, Antylamon, and Cherubimon.

The Story Continues

Digimon Survive_Kaito_Plutomon Discussion

Kaito speaks with Takuma after proceeding deeper into the Shrine, reaffirming his determination to make it through this and stating that he is ready for whatever happens next. Takuma considers how to respond:

I don't know if I am.

No Effect.

You mean fighting Aoi?

No Effect.

You'll stop Aoi, right?

Kaito Affinity Up!

Kaito receives a garbled text message shortly after this, but it seems clearer than the previous ones.

Digimon Survive_Miu_Beneath the Shrine_Part 12 Wrathful

Players can then speak with Minoru and Miu. Miu talks to Takuma about the text and seems sad that she didn't receive one.

Ask if she's jealous.

No Effect.

Say it's coincidence.

Miu Affinity Up!

Minoru also hears about the text from Takuma and discovers that he received one too. He suddenly freaks out about it, wondering if something strange is going to happen again.

Downplay the texts.

No Effect.

Say you don't know.

Minoru Affinity Up!

Minoru suggests setting everyone's phones to silent so that they don't go off in the middle of a battle and cause a distraction. After speaking to both Minoru and Miyuki the group will progress deeper into the underground tunnel, finding an area that seems to exude a sinister energy.

Digimon Survive_Plutomon_Part 12 Wrathful

The group finds Miyuki lying on the ground here but is confronted by Plutomon when they try to help her. Agumon and the other Digimon warn against approaching Plutomon, saying that they can sense countless enemies within Plutomon. It turns out that Plutomon has been absorbing everything in their path and becoming one with them.

They then explain that Miyuki's soul has begun to fuse with the Master, just like everyone who has died in the fog up to this point. Aoi seems to believe this is a good thing since absorbing everyone including the Master will mean reuniting everyone as a single being. The group appeals to Aoi, trying to convince her to return to the Human World with them, and Plutomon decides to absorb and become one with everyone in the Human World too. Revealing that this was the plan all along, Plutomon reiterates their plan to unite everything into a single entity and end all conflict.

Plutomon/Aoi refuses to listen to the group and Renamon returns to their true form to prepare for battle.

Digimon Survive is a love letter to the Digimon franchise in many ways, and pays homage to the original Adventure anime in particular.

Battle: Plutomon

Digimon Survive_Plutomon Boss Stats

In a battlefield strewn with the decaying bodies of countless Kenzoku, Plutomon awaits the group. As a powerful Virus Digimon, Plutomon's greatest weakness is attacks from Vaccine attribute Digimon like Renamon, Varodurumon (Falcomon's mega form) and MarineAngemon (Syakomon's mega form.) Bring in an allied Digimon with the vaccine attribute too for best results, ideally one that can deal light element damage.

Plutomon resists darkness the most and has partial resistance to every element except for light. They take extra damage from light, making it the best way to actually damage them. Plutomon is very likely to get the first move due to their sheer speed, so players should approach cautiously and make sure Plutomon can't get behind them for bonus damage. Once Falcomon has digivolved to mega he can outspeed Plutomon, so players should try to attack it from behind once the opportunity appears.

It's important not to take unnecessary risks when fighting Plutomon, since it gains a boost to all stats whenever it takes down an enemy.

7 Beginner Tips For Digimon Survive

Digimon Survive is a tactical RPG/Visual Novel with many mechanics to keep track of. Here are some tips for getting started.

After the Battle

Digimon Survive_Plutomon 2_Wrathful Part 12

Kaito and Renamon both agree that if Aoi tries anything now, they'll kill her since the risk is simply too great if the group is unable to convince her to stop. Takuma tries to appeal to her, asking her to use her new strength as Plutomon to save Miyuki and bring a good end to all this. Plutomon refuses to give up their plan, insisting that all the deaths so far were "because <they> allowed others to be wrong." Miu tries to tell her that this isn't what Saki would want and Plutomon snaps at her.

Digimon Survive_Miyuki_Wrathful Part 12

Finally, reluctantly, Kaito decides to finish off Plutomon. Unfortunately, Renamon begins fading, suggesting that Miyuki is dying. Miyuki passes away and Renamon vanishes from existence right before the group's eyes. Plutomon implies this was all part of their plan and leaves to try to absorb the Master. Everyone is suddenly pulled into a strange void, likely the same one Takuma saw at the end of Part 7.

The Master

Digimon Survive_Aoi and the Master_Wrathful Route Part 12

Aoi and the Master battle in the void, but Plutomon is absorbed into the Master. In her last moments, she apologizes to everyone. The group considers what they should do now.

We should fight.

Moral +1

We should regroup.

Harmony +1

We should run.

Wrathful +1

Regardless of the choice made, The Master then notices the group and begins to attack.

Battle: The Master (Plutomon Fusion)

Digimon Survive_The Void

The Master is a Super Ultimate All-Rounder Virus Digimon with high resistance to dark and earth elemental attacks. His lowest resistance is to light, likely as a side effect of absorbing Plutomon, and his next lowest resistances are to water and wind. His passive skill "Warped Faith" allows him to raise both attack stats by one rank whenever his HP drops by a certain amount, while his normal attack can hit up to 11 spaces away.

He can use Plutomon's "Hell's Gate" attack to deal a huge amount of dark damage in a wide AOE in front of himself and to the sides, while "Black Frost" allows him to deal water damage in an area with a chance of freezing and poisoning anything caught in the blast.

Players should approach the Master with caution and make sure to heal whenever possible. Light element physical attacks will deal the most damage, so players should try to utilize powerful Vaccine Digimon that can use those types of attacks. Renamon would be a good choice here if they were still around, so if players recruited another Renamon and evolved them they should use them here.

The red spaces in front of the Master indicate the spaces to aim for when attacking and striking those spaces from the sides will allow players to deal more damage like normal. Buffs to strengthen offense and defense are also very useful in this battle due to the Master's raw power. It will take a turn or two to get around to the Master's sides for maximum damage, so sending someone to attack from the front at a distance while the rest of the group circles to the sides is a sensible strategy.

Something is Wrong

Digimon Survive_Aoi_Wrathful Part 12

After dealing enough damage to The Master he will suddenly seem to suffer from tremendous pain. Suddenly, Aoi appears, gleeful that she has achieved her goal and gained control of the Master. Apparently, it was her plan to get absorbed and trick the group into weakening the master by trying to get revenge for Aoi's death.

At this moment Takuma realizes that the Aoi they knew is gone, leaving only a monster that wants to destroy both worlds. Aoi tears open the door between worlds and offers to let the group pass through since it won't matter where they are once she makes everyone into one. Aoi attempts to convince the group by allowing them to hear the voices of everyone who died but seems not to notice that they are crying out in pain rather than inviting the group to join them.

Transforming into Plutomon once more, Aoi decides to make the group one with her here and now.

Battle: Plutomon

Digimon Survive_Plutomon 3_Part 12 Wrathful

This Plutomon fight is, surprisingly, very similar to the last despite Aoi absorbing the Master. Her stats might be a bit higher but that doesn't change the strategy much at all, so players should deploy powerful Vaccine Digimon with access to light element attacks to end the fight just like before.

Advance carefully, attack from the sides and behind whenever possible, and don't allow Plutomon to attack from behind. Heal as needed and the fight will be over soon.

Aoi apologizes, genuinely this time, as she succumbs to her wounds and fades away. All that remains is for the group to return to their world through the gate Aoi left behind. As the group speaks, the gate grows wider and wider and the worlds begin to merge together.

As the group considers the implications of humans and Digimon sharing a world, Takuma rallies the group to head home and help the two worlds to exist peacefully. The Professor remains behind to mourn and seek any remnants of his Sister that remain in this world.

The End

Digimon Survive_Wrathful Ending

The game skips ahead one year, and Takuma notes that the World did sort of end up the way Aoi hoped it would. The two worlds have achieved a sort of balance, though the emergence of the Kemonogami (Digimon) into the real world has caused chaos and destruction. We see a child and their Digimon partner fleeing from the police in an alleyway, and the Officer is particularly nasty to the "Monster Handler." Suddenly, Kaito and Takuma arrive to intervene, knocking the hostile police officer unconscious and rescuing the child and their partner.

Minoru and Miu call to check how things are going, and then Takuma and Kaito take the child into their care. It seems the group has formed a formidable resistance movement to fight for unity, and hopefully prevent another tragedy like Aoi's. As they reaffirm their mission to create a world without conflict without resorting to extremes, the credits roll.

Digimon Survive is available for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
