How to Complete Books With No Pictures in Disney Dreamlight Valley (Alice Level 2 Friendship Quest)
How to Start Books With No Pictures
To start Books with No Pictures in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you must first complete all four Wonderland Realm quests and welcome Alice to the Valley. You can begin Books with No Pictures when you reach level 2 Friendship with Alice, such as by giving her gifts like flowers, gems, or her favorite things of the day, plus meet the following quest unlock requirements:
- Unlock Vanellope, Ursula, Remy, and Mirabel as characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
- Unlock the Dazzle Beach biome.
After reaching level 2 Friendship with Alice and meeting all of the above requirements, you can select the Books with No Pictures dialogue option when speaking with Alice to get started. She will then tell you that she'd like your help introducing Vanellope to picture books.
Speak With Vanellope About Hanging Out With Alice and Go Inside the Dreamlight Library
The first objective in Books with No Pictures is to speak with Vanellope about hanging out with Alice for some reading. While it's not video game-related, Vanellope agrees. After chatting with Vanellope, head inside Merlin's Dreamlight Library and speak with Alice and Vanellope, who are waiting there. However, things soon start getting a bit strange when Vanellope starts reading one of the books on the table, with the words leaping off the pages and running wild.
Talk to Scrooge McDuck or Mickey Mouse and Goofy
The next step is to ask Scrooge, Mickey, or Goofy about the missing Magical Nouns from the book, otherwise known as naming words. It seems you can ask any character you like, but if you speak with Scrooge first, he tells you Goofy fished up something odd from one of the ponds - one of the strangest fish Goofy has ever seen. Chat with Goofy, and he will give you the Magical Noun 'House' attached to a fish, but you'll need to fish up the rest.

This guide will share all the duties available in the Garden of Whimsy Star Path event in Disney Dreamlight Valley, along with the rewards they offer.
Find Some Magical Nouns From Ponds in the Peaceful Meadow and Talk to Alice
Next, you need to catch two more Magical Nouns with your Royal Fishing Rod from the ponds in the Peaceful Meadow - the 'NOUN: Shoe' and 'NOUN: Card.' Doing so gives you three Magical Nouns altogether with the one Goofy gave you.
You can spot the Magical Nouns in ponds by the large blue and purple bubbles with blue letters. Afterward, speak to Alice again to give her the Magical Nouns, but you've also got some missing Magic Verbs to find.
Search For and Chase After the Magic Verbs in the Plaza, Then Catch Them in the Dreamlight Castle
Head to the Plaza to search for the missing three Magic Verbs, which you can find by chasing a white rabbit with the blue letter trail into the Dream Castle. There are three rabbits to catch inside the Castle to get the Magic Verbs, and they are pretty fast. That said, you can grab them by quickly interacting with them when they briefly change direction, learning their movement paths, using a glider, or increasing your energy.
Once you've caught all three Magic Verbs, which are 'grow,' 'stuck,' and 'skip,' give them to Alice by talking to her again. She then tells you a bit more about what adjectives do and suggests looking for the missing Magical Adjectives and searching around fruit trees and shrubs.
Search the Valley For Magical Adjectives and Gather Them
You can find the Magical Adjectives on berry bushes in the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, or Dazzle Beach. Interact with the bushes to collect the Magical Adjectives. However, you can only gather two, and it seems the third is missing.

Talk to Remy, Ursula, or Mirabel About the Missing Magical Adjectives and Search Mickey's House
At this point in Books with No Pictures, you can choose whether to speak with Remy, Ursula, or Mirabel about the Missing Magical Adjectives. If you talk to Remy, he talks about the Magical Adjectives in cooking and suggests checking inside Mickey's House. Head inside Mickey's house to find the last Magical Adjective on the fridge, which you can collect.
Bring the Magical Adjectives to Alice and Read Her Silly Poetry to Merlin
Speak to Alice again to give her the three Magical Adjectives: 'Striped,' 'Verdant,' and 'Silly.' She'll ask you to pick some of the words so she can make up a bit of silly poetry, so feel free to choose any ones you like.
Next, follow Alice and listen to her read the poem to Merlin, who seems to enjoy it a lot, then talk to him. It turns out that there's a bit more to the Magical Words than meets the eye, and Merlin suggests that you make a Literary Pop-Up Book for the words and Alice to enjoy spending time together.
Gather Materials to Craft the Literary Pop-Up Book
Next up, you'll need to grab the following materials to craft the Literary Pop-Up Book:
- x4 Sunflower - found growing at Dazzle Beach.
- X5 Pink Hydrangea - found growing at Dazzle Beach.
- X9 Softwood - found on the ground in the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, and Ancient's Landing.
- X12 Fiber - crafted from Seaweed at a crafting station.
Once you've gathered all the materials above, craft the Literary Pop-Up Book in the Furniture tab at a crafting station.
Talk to Alice and Make a Cozy Reading Room in Your House
Return to Alice, who wants to introduce Vanellope to the Pop-Up Book but wants you to set the scene by making a cozy library space. To do so, you'll need to already have or add the following furniture items to any room in your house using the furniture menu:
- The Literary Pop-Up Book you crafted
- A rug
- A table
- Two lights
- At least three calm furniture items
You can use any existing room in your house to make a cozy reading room, and you don't need to expand to make a new room unless you would prefer to. If you need more furniture pieces, such as calm furniture, you could order and buy more from Scrooge's store if necessary. Selecting items from the requests tab under the Alice icons can also help you choose the right furniture if you're stuck.
Afterward, speak with Alice again, who will ask you to choose any words you like for another poem to read. Doing so completes the Books with No Pictures quest, and Alice also gives you the Literary Pop-Up Book as a gift.
You can now continue leveling up your friendship with Alice to begin her next quest, 'Mimsy Were the Borogoves,' where things get even more puzzling.
