Disney Dreamlight Valley's next big free update has been announced for October 1, and fans of Beauty and the Beast are in for a treat. While much of the fanfare around Disney Dreamlight Valley over the last month has been in preparation for the upcoming release of Wishblossom Ranch, the development team at Gameloft Montreal still has some surprises in store for its free-to-play users.
The Wishblossom Ranch paid expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley was first revealed at the start of September. Providing a new area where players can train horses and use them to help revitalize the ranch, the DLC will have a special showcase on October 15, but Gameloft has another big drop planned before then.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Return to Beast's Castle Release Date

Fans who have been following the Disney Dreamlight Valley roadmap closely have known since early June that the developers have been planning for another dive into the world of Beauty and the Beast, though its broad fall 2025 release window still left the question of when it would be coming. In a new post on the game's official Twitter account, Return to Beast's Castle has been confirmed as a new story planned to be released in a free update on October 1. The initial reveal gives almost no specific information as to what players can expect to experience with the new story, and the game's official news page hasn't been updated since September 3, which means there are still plenty of surprises in store.
One aspect some players are hoping to see with the resurgence in Beauty and the Beast content is an in-game look at the Beast's human form. A few players have pointed out on Twitter that transformations of Disney Dreamlight Valley's Ursula and Ariel of The Little Mermaid fame are present in the game, depicting both their human and under-the-sea forms. Beast has been a part of the game for nearly two years now, having first debuted on September 13, 2023, but players have not yet gotten a good look at how Gameloft would present him in his more princely appearance.
While the October 1 update has revealed its story, players are also eager to see what Halloween-based content is planned for the game this year. In 2024, fans criticized Disney Dreamlight Valley's Trick or Treat Halloween event for too closely resembling the same event from 2023. In addition, the October 2024 Star Path was centered around rock concerts, which disappointed fans who were hoping for some spooky rewards. The year's October Star Path may be different. In response to one fan's skepticism that 2025 would bring more disappointment for Halloween celebrants, the game's social media account responded simply with the eyes emoji.
