With the latest update in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players can now toggle between villagers they would like to see in their village. Let's say Merlin is not your preferred friend to go foraging through the Peaceful Meadow with. With the newest update, players can select unwanted villagers by opening up a menu and choosing when they want them to roam throughout the valley.

How to Add and Remove Villagers in Dreamlight Valley

Enenable or disable

Open Friends List

To find the friends list and finally use the feature of adding and removing characters, players will have to open the main menu and flip pages to the map. Once the player has opened the map, a small icon on the left side of the screen contains a picture of a book with a symbol of Mickey's ears.

This feature is only available once the player has downloaded the update released with the latest expansion.

Adding and Removing Villagers

With the list of unlocked villagers opened, players can scroll through and gray out the unwanted characters. Once grayed, they may still appear roaming about on the map. This is because the villagers will not go away if they still have a quest to be completed. This might help players remember which DDV quests are yet to be completed.

Villagers Menu

When the character icon has been grayed out, they will not disappear at first, and the feature won't take effect until entering a building. Once the character is gone from the world, they will no longer be lounging around or partaking in activities like chatting with the player unless they are part of a mission objective.

If they end up being missed and the player would like to bring them back, opening up the friends list, unselecting them, and entering a building will return them to the valley once more to go on activities like digging, fishing, foraging, and mining. This feature is a great new tool for those who like a less populated village or would like to run into specific villagers.
