A new addition to Disney Dreamlight Valley could change the landscape of the game. Traditionally speaking, Disney Dreamlight Valley has only added characters from Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Studios, except for The Nightmare Before Christmas. However, with the addition of new Star Wars items in the Premium Shop thanks to the Wonderland Whimsy update, it seems that the game’s May the Fourth celebration could lead to grander Star Wars content in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

The initial trailer for Wonderland Whimsy only revealed a few of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Star Wars items, including a set of Jedi robes, a lightsaber hand accessory with an accompanying photo pose, and an R2-D2 droid Companion. New items have been added to the Premium Shop since this reveal, including the Naboo Villa Bundle which includes the titular Naboo Villa house Dreamstyle and accompanying themed wallpaper and flooring. Meanwhile, the Naboo Interior Furniture Bundle includes a holotable, bed, fireplace, table, chair, sofa, windows, and decor pillars, themed to the important planet.

Star Wars Animated Featuers are DDV's Best Bet

With the addition of Star Wars characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley growing more possible, ironing out which characters would be the best fit for the game is incredibly important. While Star Wars notably has many animated adaptations, the franchise is most known for its live action films and TV shows. This means that many iconic Star Wars characters are inherently tied to the actors that portrayed them. Fortunately, several of these characters were featured in animated adaptations, making them the best characters to add to Disney Dreamlight Valley when aligning art styles. Disney Dreamlight Valley has been criticized for its character designs in the past, so it’s integral that Gameloft takes Star Wars’ animated properties into account.

This means a show like Star Wars: The Clone Wars would work perfectly for Disney Dreamlight Valley. Additionally, picking out characters from the animated TV show that were originally featured in the live-action films would likely be more popular than Clone Wars original characters. This means that C3PO, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and more could all easily be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley without an uncanny valley situation. Ahsoka may have debuted in the Clone Wars sub-series, but her standalone live action TV series has also primed her to be popular enough to be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How Other Star Wars Characters Will Likely Head to DDV

There are other ways that Star Wars characters will likely be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley. The most obvious is Companions, as R2-D2 is already featured in the game as one. Smaller, cuter droids like BB-8 are obvious prime Companion material, but humanoid droids like C3PO would be much better as full-on characters. Other cute characters from Star Wars are also suited to the Companion role, like Porgs. However, Grogu (Baby Yoda) is the most obvious pick for a new Companion in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Merchandise for Grogu is available as far as the eye can see. In fact, one could argue that Grogu is one of the most profitable parts of the Star Wars franchise currently, making it easy for Disney Dreamlight Valley to capitalize on cuteness.

Characters from the original Star Wars trilogy obviously deserve to be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley if the game decides to feature Star Wars character additions. After all, nothing holds as tight a grip on Star Wars as the original saga. But when it comes to character additions, animated Star Wars properties are Disney Dreamlight Valley’s best bet. Of course, clothing and furniture items inspired from the franchise will likely also be added to the game if this recent drop proves to be profitable. Ultimately, Star Wars doesn’t seem to be leaving Disney Dreamlight Valley anytime soon, so players should keep their eyes and ears tuned for character additions from the franchise.
