The first paid DLC expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley, A Rift in Time, presents a wealth of new content and launches a distinct story arc following the conclusion of the game's first act in The Dark Castle quest series. The expansion introduces players to Eternity Isle, a region brimming with new quests, ingredients, materials, and more. It also features three unique characters exclusive to the expansion, with new quests for players to welcome them to the Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Make Best Fish Forever

Learn where to find the ingredients to make this nostalgic new dish in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Eternity Isle is divided into three distinct biomes—Ancient's Landing, Glittering Dunes, and Wild Tangle—each presenting new versions of familiar elements and including a specific assortment of materials for players to forage and gather. As an island, Eternity Isle naturally features many fishing spots, crucial for completing early quests in the expansion that require catching new aquatic species.

One particular new catch, the Scorpion, is caught using a method that is both familiar and distinctively unique. Here's a guide on how players can find Scorpions in the A Rift in Time expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to Get Scorpions in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Fishing for Scorpions in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Scorpions, a new ingredient added in the A Rift in Time expansion, are found exclusively in the Glittering Dunes biome. However, contrary to what players might expect, scorpions are not found roaming the sands. Instead, Scorpions are caught by fishing in specific colored pools found within the dark sandy patches in the Glittering Dunes. These fishable pools are easily identifiable, marked by a prominent swirl of sand along with sand-filled bubbles.

Players can catch Scorpions from both blue and orange pools located within these sands. Fishing in these pools uses the same mechanics as regular water fishing, with each of the three colored pools hosting a variety of creatures for players to catch. However, unlike in the Valley, the fishing pools in the sands of the Glittering Dunes have catches that are shared across various pool colors.

What are Scorpions Used for in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Gaston wants a scorpion in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Scorpions serve two distinct purposes in Disney Dreamlight Valley's A Rift in Time expansion. A new quest in A Rift in Time involves catching a Scorpion as part of the series to unlock the Beauty and the Beast character Gaston, one of the three new characters introduced in this expansion.

The player discovers Gaston stranded in the Glittering Dunes, where he promptly requests the player to fetch a “Flexing Spider-Like Thing?” To eat, which refers to a Scorpion. The player can easily catch a Scorpion for this quest by fishing in the sparkling orange pool near his location.

Scorpions are also used as ingredients in a select few cooking recipes exclusive to A Rift in Time. These recipes require ingredients only available in the Eternity Isle biomes, meaning players who haven't purchased the expansion DLC won't have access to Scorpions or the related recipes.
