In Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, decisions you make have consequences. In a game that perhaps goes against the usual warm emotions fans associate with Disney, and its iconic mascot, players can actually choose to walk down somewhat of a villainous path. This becomes clear from the very early stages of the game.
As Mickey embarks on his journey to rebuild or tear down the world he ruined, and to destroy the creature that sucked him into the Wasteland, players will need to make difficult choices where there is no going back and no way of knowing which decision was the better of the two. The first of which involves a trapped Gremlin strapped to a catapult and a chest containing unknown treasures. If you want to know if you should choose to save the Gremlin or open the chest in Epic Mickey Rebrushed, then this guide will explain the potential outcomes.
Who is Your Favorite Disney Character?
My favorites are the Cheshire Cat form Alice in Wonderland, Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Befofre Christmas, Baymax from Big Hero 6, and Ruben from Lilo & Stitch.
Gremlin Or Treasure Chest Rewards in Epic Mickey Rebrushed
The first big decision you have to make will put a Gremlin's life in your hands, so it is worth weighing up your options before making a call. You can make your decision by either destroying the Gremlin's cage (if you wish to rescue him) or use your spin attack on the chest (if you want to claim the treasure instead).
As far as rewards go, either choice will grant players a Concept Art called The Trebuchet, which will appear in front of the tower once a decision is made. If you choose to save the Gremlin, he will give you a Gold Pin. If you decide to break open the chest, however, you will receive 200 E-Tickets (and a lecture from your buddy Gus).
Should You Choose The Gremlin or Chest in Epic Mickey Rebrushed?
Given the rewards available, it is better to save the Gremlin. Gold pins are very limited collectibles, so you won't be able to collect all 20 if you opt for the chest. In contrast, while 200 E-Tickets is a pretty significant amount, you won't encounter any merchants until much later in the game. By that point, you'll have time to accumulate plenty of funds that you'll likely not miss the 200 you don't get for choosing to rescue the Gremlin.
Ultimately, it comes down to the playthrough you intend on having. If you're looking to repair the various environments and befriend enemies and bosses, then it's good to start on the right foot and save the Gremlin. If you intend on leaning more heavily on your Thinner and leaving a path of destruction in your wake, then you can make it abundantly clear to your Gremlin companion Gus that you're going down a very un-Mickey road by launching one of his friends into the sky.
This particular game scenario is that your decision here doesn't appear to have any long-term consequences as the story progresses. However, after this choice, you will encounter other instances where what you decide will impact on certain interactions and game scenarios. In the early stages of the game, a big one of these is whether you help Big Pete with his boat logs.
