AdHoc Studio has responded to growing community calls for more Dispatch, with a senior company official saying that the team is "thinking" about a second season of the hit adventure game. However, the Dispatch developer is not ready to commit to such a major content drop just yet.

An episodic adventure game from a studio founded by masters of the genre from the now-defunct developer Telltale Games, the Aaron Paul-starring Dispatch took the world by storm following its October 2025 release, reportedly clearing 1 million sales within its first 10 days on the market. Although its final two episodes are yet to be released, fans have been asking for season 2 since the game's debut.

Dispatch Season 2 Is a Possibility, Developer Confirms

During a recent appearance on SkillUp's The Friends Per Second podcast, AdHoc Studio co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Pierre Shorette confirmed that the indie developer isn't ruling out another season of the hit adventure game. "We're gonna have to at least think about Season 2 now," the industry veteran said. The remark was offered as a direct response to Dispatch blowing up following its October 2025 release, although Shorette was careful not to commit to anything.

Episodic adventure games have been a part of the industry for years. While AdHoc Studio adopted this model with Dispatch, its release cadence suggests the episodic format was more of a marketing strategy than a reflection of realistic development timelines. After all, each two-episode pack of Dispatch was released exactly one week after the previous one—far too short a window to develop even a small portion of new content—indicating that most of the work on each subsequent pack was already completed well in advance.

The finale of Dispatch is scheduled to premiere on November 12, when episodes 7 and 8 are set to be released on the PlayStation 5 and PC. Even if AdHoc Studio moves forward with a second season, the chances of it arriving anytime soon appear slim. As modern game development cycles continue to grow longer, the likelihood of Dispatch Season 2 materializing within the next several years is basically zero.

We're gonna have to at least think about [Dispatch] Season 2 now.

As of November 9, Dispatch holds "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on Steam, based on over 21,300 player impressions. Its success reflects the broader revival of narrative-driven games in the post-Telltale era, indicating that the public still has an appetite for dramatic storytelling that's equal parts cinematic and interactive.
