Division 2 hosts a ton of PvE activities where players can farm desired loot, and a great AR DPS and Survivability build can help significantly. Damage-focused builds usually hit enemies hard, but they also make you an easy target to vanquish. To counter the enemy's attacks, players are often forced to shift to a more armor-focused build, which results in low damage output.
However, by carefully choosing the gear pieces and developing a synergy within them, you can rock a balanced build. It will output a good amount of damage while allowing you to survive the barrage of bullets from enemies in Division 2. Let's break down this best AR DPS and Survivability build, which will make your mission and open-world farming sessions much easier and more fun.

Division 2 AR High DPS & Survivability Build Explanation
The way this AR build works is quite straightforward. You'll run up to enemies, and try to target non-elite enemies first (red ones). Once you take them out, grab your first couple of trophies to build up weapon damage and bonus armor. After that, you can face elite enemies head-on while tanking their shots and hitting them hard.
- For DPS: You'll stack up additional weapon damage from Memento trophies and Obliterate talent on the chest piece. The damage to targets out of cover and damage to armor attributes on the kneepads and gloves respectively will amplify your damage even more.
- For Survivability: You'll have a base armor of 1.5 million, which is quite a lot. Due to high base armor, you'll have higher bonus armor on your character which will enable your character to face-tank almost every enemy in the game, even on Heroic difficulty. Make sure to equip "Gunner Specialization" to get additional bonus armor on kills.
As bonus tips, try to equip a "Crusader Ballistic Shield" as your primary skill as it'll have an enhanced effect that scales with Armor attributes (blue cores). If your health does get low, activate it to stay in the fight for longer. Also, land headshots with your Eagle Bearer Exotic Assault Rifle to get a tenacity buff to reduce damage taken by hostiles.
