Donkey Kong Bananza: All Fossils in Lagoon Layer

Lagoon Layer is the first map that players will get to explore in Donkey Kong Bananza. This world consists of three separate layers, and each one has dozens of hidden items that gamers are tasked with finding. There are 55 Banandium Gems and 72 Fossils, divided throughout three layers.

The first and second layer are riddeld with collectibles, while the third and deepest one has a much smaller area to explore and less items to find. This guide will help players find the 72 Fossils that can be found in Donkey Kong Bananza's Lagoon Layers.

Ammonite #	Location
1	In a cave underneath the slope leading up from Ape Cape.
2	Next to the monkey-shaped stone, up the slope leading up from Ape Cape.
3	Inside a hidden chamber in the wall of the passage below the peak of the mountain closest to Ape Cape.
4	On the wall beside a mushroom growing out of the side of the mountain.
5	Stuck to the ground, on the edge of the mountain.
6	On the side of the mountain.
7	By the Reservoir Bank checkpoint, in the small pond where a monkey is fishing.
8, 9, 10, 11	In the hidden area below Reservoir Bank.
12	On the inner wall of the circular area.
13	On the stone wall overlooking the Reservoir Bank area.
14	On the side of the wall, underneath the timed challenge
15	Further up ahead, in a hidden cave overlooking the Reservoir Bank area.
16	Inside the hollow, monkey-shaped cave besides the Rambi.
17	There is another monkey-shaped rock besides the Rambi, but this one isn't hollow. Players must break into its head and retrieve the Fossil.
18	There are mushrooms growing out of the side of the mountain where the Rambi is standing. Players must climb down until they reach what looks like a filled in cave. They must break inside and get the Fossil.
19	On the outer side of the stone wall.

21	On the rotating slabs, inside the cave at the end of the Reservoir Bank area.
22	Inside a hidden cave next to the Reservoir Hills checkpoint.
23	Inside a bubble floating on the side of the map. Players can throw a boulder at it to pop it and collect the fossil.
24, 25	Inside a cave hidden by a stone door.
26	Inside a cave hidden by a concrete door.
27	On the ear of the monkey-shaped challenge course entrance.
28	On the exterior wall of the same structure.
29	On the same structure, inside a hidden cave at the bottom.
30	Inside a hidden cave, hidden by a concrete door. Gamers can break the barrels in front of the door and find a Boom Rock.
31	On the wall, just below the bridge.
32	On a tree top in the water.
33	On the stone door blocking a hidden cave.
34	On the side of a short wall.
35	Inside a hidden compartment in the ground. Players will have to break the ground in this area to find it.
36	On a wall, behind a waterfall.

Ammonite Fossils in SL101

Ammonite #	Location
38	Inside the tree.
39, 40	On the side of the wall.
41	In a puddle by the Style Shop.
42	Underneath a boat by the Style Shop.
43	On top of the green frame. Players should fix the water shortage to have better access to it.
44	On top of the monkey-shaped rock.
45	Inside the other monkey-shaped rock.
46	On the side of the wall by the Warp Gong.
47	Hidden behind the boat by the food stall.
48	On a rock attached to the roof of the structure.
49, 50	On the stone wall, one next to the other.
51	In a bubble near the moving platforms. Players will have an easier time reaching this fossil once they've fixed the water shortage.
52	In a tall structure in the water.
53	In a shipwreck next to the bridge.
54	Stuck to a concrete wall. Players will have to pick up some Boom Rock carefully and throw it in the fossil's direction to get it.
55	After retrieving the Ammonite #54, players must go into the tunnel that will open up after destroying the concrete wall. On the other side, there will be another concrete wall with an Ammonite in it.
56	On a rock hidden behind the containers.
57	On the back side of the wall surrounding the elder.
58	On a concrete slab surrounding the area where the Ancient Record is/was.
59	To find this fossil, players must go through the entrance in the containers. There is a hidden wall compartment on the left, after walking past the rotating concrete slabs.

1	On a concrete slab on the side of the mountain. Players can throw a Boom Rock at it to retrieve the fossil.
2	Inside a cave hidden deep in the depths of the map. Gamers will have to dig their way into the terrain to find this fossil.
3	Below the floating island, gamers can find Cranky Kong.
4	Inside the pipe.
5	Inside a bubble on the side of the map. Players can throw a boulder at it to collect it.
6	Inside a water cave - accesible through the side of the map.

Anomalocaris Fossils in SL101

7	On a concrete mat behind the Style Shop.
8	On a floating platform by the food stall area. Players can reach the fossil by throwing a boulder at the bright particules to turns them to solid stone.
9	Behind the shipping container yard.

Anomalocaris Fossils in SL102

Anomalocaris #	Location
10	Before exiting the tunnel, players should break the wall on their right. This will open a passage to an area outside. Here, they will spot a broken boat, and underneath it, the final Anomalocaris fossil.

Whale Fossil Location in Lagoon Layer

The Whale fossil is the rarest fossil in Lagoon Layer, as it is one of a kind. In order get the Whale fossil, players must progress in the story and fix the water shortage. Once the water shortage is fixed, the water levels in the lagoon will go back to normal, allowing players to reach new heights in Lagoon Layer.
