In DOOM The Dark Ages, Chapters 6 and 7 make up two halves of the Siege levels. While Chapter 6 is very open with its level layout, Chapter 7 is much smaller. In fact, as you continue from mission marker to mission marker, you will find the Chapter 7 Secret Key location without going out of your way.

The thing is, the Chapter 7 Secret Key is floating above a courtyard, and it's not immediately obvious how to reach it. This guide explains how to get the Secret Key in Chapter 7 of DOOM The Dark Ages and what you will get for opening the two secret doors within this level.

How To Get The Chapter 7 Secret Key

About halfway through the level you will enter an are engulfed with flames on practically all sides, which contains a combat arena to boot. Defeat all of the enemies here, and you will see the Secret Key for Chapter 7 is located right above the center of the courtyard.

To get the Chapter 7 Secret Key, DOOM The Dark Ages players should head towards the mission objective as normal, into the building. Defeat the demons in here to open the sealed path upward, then follow the mission marker once again and take the stairs up.

You will be led to the upper level of the courtyard you were just in, and if you look to the right over the ledge, you will see the Secret Key on the opposite site of a Jump Pad.

Though it's the game's first chapter, there are still a lot of Chapter 1 collectibles DOOM The Dark Ages players can find.

Continue to grind through the demons toward the mission marker, but when you must turn left to continue down the hall toward a few Armor pickups, turn right and Shield Charge through the weak wall instead. You will discover a Secret Area, a lot of Gold pickups, and will be able to access the Jump Pad to get to the Secret Key.

Watch out for the invisible Imp in this secret area – throw your Saw Shield into it to reveal it, then blast it away while it's stunned.

All Secret Doors In Chapter 7: The Siege Part II

There are two Chapter 7 secret door locations, both of which can be found relatively close to the Secret Key location itself:

  • In the courtyard below the Secret Key, you should see a secret door on the ground floor on the opposite side of the Secret Key location.
    • Contains a Ruby and a Mancubus enemy, plus a shortcut back to the top level of the courtyard to continue the mission

  • Face the building you must walk through from the courtyard to get to the top level, and look on the right side of the stairs to find another secret door.
