The Doom series has experienced a resurgence in popularity since developer Id Software produced a modernized reboot of the franchise in 2016. Now, years after the release of 2020's Doom Eternal, Doom: The Dark Ages is set to take the saga of the Doom Slayer in a new direction. Rather than its classic inspiration of sending a sci-fi-inspired super soldier into the depths of hell, Doom: The Dark Ages takes inspiration from fantasy in its weapons and setting, placing the Doom Slayer in a world full of dragons and castles. Players will rip and tear their way through legions of demons using an array of weapons both new and old as they aid the Night Sentinels of Argent D'Nur against hell's forces.

The Best War Games recently saw Doom: The Dark Ages in action, and its shaping up to be the Doom Slayer's largest, most ambitious adrenaline-fueled romp yet.
Doom: The Dark Ages will also be a day one Xbox Game Pass release when it launches on May 15, making it accessible to everyone with a subscription and without an additional up-front purchase. However, for those willing to pay extra, Bethesda and Microsoft also revealed just what's included in the Collector's Bundle of the game. Updates to the Doom: The Dark Ages pages on the PlayStation Direct and Bethesda Gear Store websites list the physical Collector's Edition Bundle as having a price tag of $199.99 USD, with a number of extras included, such as a statue, SteelBook Case, and access to planned DLC in addition to the game itself.

The Doom: The Dark Ages Collector's Edition Bundle's centerpiece is a 12-inch statue of the Doom Slayer. In keeping with the medieval-inspired aesthetic of The Dark Ages, the Doom Slayer is dressed in knight-like armor and a cape, though the outfit maintains the familiar lines and olive green colors of the classic Doom Slayer outfit. The statue also holds two Doom: The Dark Ages weapons: The Shield Saw and the Super Shotgun. Other physical goods in the package include a SteelBook Case decorated in hellish runes a replica Red Keycard.
The Doom: The Dark Ages Collector's Edition on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will include the game disc. However, players who have the PC specs to run Doom: The Dark Ages and choose that platform will only get a game code in their package. In addition to the physical goods, the Doom: The Dark Ages Collector's Edition Bundle also has campaign DLC and up to 2 days of early access to the game itself. Though the campaign DLC isn't detailed, the package does show the Divinity Skin Pack. The pack includes a set of cosmetic matching skins for the Doom Slayer, the dragon, and the character Atlan. Finally, pre-orders of any edition of the game will unlock the Void Doom Slayer skin at launch.
