In the first trailer for Doom: The Dark Ages, it shows the world that the Doom Slayer was found, filled with castles and structures under siege by demons. The trailer then shows how the Doom Slayer looks in The Dark Ages, retaining his classic bulky green armor, though now equipped with a barbarian-esque cape. Doom Slayer's trusty sawed-off shotgun is back, and Doom Slayer has access to a serrated shield, which is used in tandem with his various guns. Other guns revealed in this trailer include a railgun that fires bullets using ground up skulls, a plasma cannon, and even a chain flail.

Doom: The Dark Ages - Doom Slayer's Weapons

  • Sawed-Off Shotgun
  • Serrated Sawblade Boomerang Shield
  • Railgun that shoots ground skull bullets
  • Plasma Rifle
  • Chain Flail
  • Mech Suit
  • Cyber Dragon

The shield itself can be used to block bullets while moving, temporarily stopping their offense to focus on defense. The shield is also a weapon, as the Doom Slayer can pull a ripcord to start his shield up, turning it into a spinning saw blade that can be used as a ram. The player can throw his shield as if they're Captain America, shredding various demonic hordes ahead of them, and it will eventually return to Doom Slayer like a boomerang.

These aren't the only toys that Doom Slayer has in his wide arsenal, as he gets access to a giant mech suit. Players finally get to control one and fight giant demons. The trailer also reveals how the Doom Slayer can ride atop a cybernetic dragon, which can breathe fireballs and fly through the skies. Doom: The Dark Ages is already looking to be an exciting time, and it will be exciting to see more.
