How to Unlock the Shield Saw Throw in Doom The Dark Ages

Shield Saw is one of the best abilities in Doom: The Dark Ages that players can unlock very early on in the game. Once players enter chapter 2, Hebeth, they'll progress a bit forward down the path until a weapon pod falls down. After interacting with it, you'll finally get the Shield Saw attachment.

It's only after unlocking the Shield Saw that players can now throw the shield at enemies and watch it tear through them. The Shield Saw also returns to players after hitting an enemy, without needing to press an additional button. Here's what the Shield Saw will be used for throughout Doom: The Dark Ages.

One-Hit Kill Minions: The Shield Saw can easily tear through multiple minions, which is great for crowd control when surrounded.
Against Shielded Enemies: After shooting at the enemy shields, they'll become superheated, allowing players to hit them with the Shield Saw, causing an AOE blast that damages all enemies caught within.
Stun Lock: Throwing the Shield Saw at larger enemies will let the shield burrow into their flesh for a few seconds, stun locking them in place. This will provide ample opportunity for players to shoot at a stationary enemy.
Opening Pathways: There will be different pathways that will be blocked with a lock and chains. The Shield Saw is required to break through those locks, opening up pathways for Doom Slayer to proceed ahead.
