Doom: The Dark Ages

Even in the last chapter of Doom: The Dark Ages, there are still plenty of secrets to find. It isn't just a boss battle followed by the credits, so you will get to tear through the demonic hordes of hell a little longer before you reach the end of the campaign. This is a good opportunity to pursue any secrets before the last confrontation, especially if you need one more Ruby to get that one upgrade. There are several secrets in Chapter 22 that will require you to find the secret key first, though.

Where to Find the Secret Key in Chapter 22

The secret key is found a little later in this chapter, after you have acquired the blue skull. Keep following the waypoint until you reach an elevator as depicted in the image above. Go up the elevator, and if you are facing the direction the waypoint is indicating for you to go, turn around. There will be a path of gold, and the secret key just ahead.

While not a secret, the first door that you can open with the secret key is directly in front of you when you obtain the aforementioned key. That said, this does open a shortcut that allows you to get back to the main objective quickly.

After you've opened that gate, proceed forward and drop down to the courtyard below. Go to the left toward another door that requires the secret key. Inside this room, you will find gold, a Life Sigil, and a spot where you can drop down to find the Ahzrak toy. Don't forget to pick up the gold in the corners of the room before leaving.

From there, return to the courtyard and go left to find another gate that requires the secret key. This smaller chamber contains some gold and a Ruby.

Return to the doorway that required the blue skull earlier and proceed north to the end of the hall. On your left, you will see a gate that the secret key can open and a Wraithstone waiting to be claimed. In this same area, there is a small hallway that is blocked by two gates on either side. In this chamber, you will find a cache of gold.

Finally, there is one more door that you can open with the secret key. Underneath the hall where you claimed the secret key, there is a path depicted in the image above. Next to a brazier, you will see a locked gate. On the other side is gold and one of those blue spheres that recharge your health and shield.
