Ever since his canon introduction in the Dragon Ball Super film bearing his name, Broly has quickly become one of the most powerful characters in the entire story. Of course, this wasn't his first foray in the franchise, but when it comes to strength, the modern depiction of Broly absolutely blows the version of him from Dragon Ball Z out of the water, with almost all fans unanimously agreeing that he's a far better character as well.

However, due to the unmatched potential that Broly has, he never truly learned to control it, since his father always limited the use of his full power, leading to him going berserk whenever he reached a certain threshold. However, things are different now, since the Saiyan is now under the tutelage of Goku, Vegeta, and Whis, where he will learn to master his power like never before, which may even lead to a brand-new transformation.

The Reasons Why Broly's Next Form Could Be The Strongest Of Them All

From the very start, the entire story behind Broly's character stems from his incredible and unmatched potential. Ever since he was a child, his latent power was so great that it played on the insecurity of King Vegeta, who thought it was impossible for a random child to have greater potential than his own son born of the Royal Line. Because of this, he exiled Broly and his father, Paragus, to the hostile world of Vampa.

Due to the dangerous conditions of the planet and the strict rules of his father, Broly's entire life was about survival, which greatly increased his resilience. However, his full power could never be truly brought forth, mainly because Paragus would reprimand him through the shock collar everytime Broly would get stronger in an attempt to reign him in, since he wouldn't be able to control his son otherwise. Because of this, Broly could never unlock his true potential and would lose his mind if he reached a certain level of strength.

Eventually, in his battle with Goku and Vegeta, Broly was finally able to use his strength in a way that he had never been able to do so before. However, due to how much this power had been surpressed all of his life, he had no way of controlling it, leading to a berserker state so terrifying that he managed to become even stronger in his regular Super Saiyan state that Goku and Vegeta werein their Super Saiyan Blue forms, showing just how incomparable Broly's latent power truly is.

Of course, many fans think that the Saiyan with the greatest potential of them all is Gohan due to his recently-unlocked Beast form which was able to go toe-to-toe with Ultra Instinct Goku. While strong, the truth is that Gohan has been fighting all his life against enemies just as strong, and even stronger, than himself, which has allowed him to reach these great heights of power by pushing himself further beyond each time.

Broly, on the other hand, has never had anyone even remotely close to his own power level to train with. His father was the only person he ever sparred, and whenever his power went to a certain stage, he was shocked in order to keep it down. Despite such a leash being placed on him at all times, Broly's potential was so great that, even without ever properly honing his powers, he grew strong enough to defeat Goku and Vegeta's incredibly powerful states that used God Ki and could only be put down by Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta.

Because of this, if he is ever going to unlock a new form, it would likely be the strongest transformation of them all. Only recently has he managed to unlock his Full Powered Super Saiyan state, which takes his immense strength but allows him to control it rather than going berserk, bringing him up to the same level as Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Piccolo. While he still has a long way to go before mastering it, he is definitely as strong as his contemporaries.

What Could This New Form Possibly Look Like For Broly?

An Amazing New Power

Many possibilities for Broly's next form.

With Broly's recently awakened Full Powered Super Saiyan state, the main heroes of the franchise are now all on the same level as one another with their strongest forms. However, in the future, it's only natural for their enemies to get even stronger, and in order to keep up, new transformations have typically been the sureshot way of doing so for the heroes in the franchise. Because of this, fans believe that Broly's next form may be a Full Powered Super Saiyan 3-like state that multiplies his strength exponentially.

On the other hand, a rather large contingent wants this next form to take the appearance of Super Saiyan 4, which can even happen now since Dragon Ball Daima made the form canon. Super Saiyan 4 always suited Broly more than anyone else, since it is canonically defined as the most primal form of the traditional line that condenses the strength of the Great Ape in a Saiyan's body, making them insanely powerful. This is perfect for Broly.
