The Granolah arc of Dragon Ball Super was one that fans of the franchise loved. This was primarily due to the strong storytelling aspects that tied back to the history of the Saiyans and how it affected the three main characters of the arc, mostly Vegeta. Ultra Instinct's unique property allows the body to evade danger on its own so that the user can put all of their focus and power on offense, whereas Ultra Ego requires the user to take damage in order to grow stronger. However, at the current moment, Ultra Ego doesn't reinforce the body or make it extra durable, so all of that damage tends to stay, making it inefficient.

Granolah was one of the most beloved antagonists to have ever been introduced in the franchise. Although he acted as a villain for the initial part of his arc, it was eventually revealed that he had a storied history with the Saiyan race, prompting him to dedicate his entire life to seeking revenge against them and Frieza, which is what made his path cross with Goku and Vegeta.
When his battle against Vegeta began, Granolah was quickly placed on the back foot against the awesome and unprecedented power of Ultra Ego. However, by the end of the fight, he awakened a second Red Eye which greatly increased his power, allowing him to overpower his foe, though the final attack would have taken his life as well.

Frieza had been absent from the series for quite a while, so when he made his return, fans were curious about what he may have been up to in all of this time. Here, he showed his brand-new Black Frieza transformation, which scales him miles above the main cast of characters, since he managed to knock out Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta with a single punch.

Beerus also acts as a sort of teacher for Vegeta so that the Saiyan can properly hone and utilize the Energy of Destruction, though the difference between their mastery over it is still night and day. Although Vegeta is stronger than ever because of Ultra Ego, Beerus exists on a level far above it.
