In the Granolah the Survivor arc, fans were introduced to one of the most powerful characters in the history of Dragon Ball; the titular Cerealian whose true power allowed him to surpass even Goku's Mastered Ultra Instinct form at the time. However, he would go on to battle against Vegeta, where the Saiyan Prince eventually unlocked the technique of the Destroyer Gods, called Ultra Ego, which brought him to an even greater level than his rival.

Seeing how Ultra Ego was a technique that worked as an exact inverse to Ultra Instinct, in that it took damage to get stronger, many fans were quick to start theorizing about who could potentially use it in the broader Dragon Ball canon. And so, three notable characters come to mind as the perfect candidates to inherit this technique of Destroyers, so let's take a look at who they are.

Broly Would Be The Perfect Next User Of This Incredible Technique

A Warrior Tank

First Appearance

Dragon Ball Super: Broly

Story Arc

Broly Arc

  • Broly is the best fit for Ultra Ego.

To see why Ultra Ego would work perfectly for Broly, let's first look at what makes it special in the first place. As the inherent technique of the Destroyers, it allows the user to convert all damage taken into offensive might, which ends up making them even stronger than they were before and giving their next attack far more power behind it. Keeping this in mind, Broly seems like the perfect person to use such an ability.

Even if we do ignore the previous data, Broly's latent abilities are quite remarkable.

In all of his appearances, Broly has shown a general disregard for technique, always choosing to be a hulking brute whose goal is to be as offensive and punishing as possible. Of course, much of this is because of the lack of control he has over his own potential, but this fighting style seems to be the one he calls his own, even when he's of sound mind. So, mixing this approach with the properties of Ultra Ego would make Broly completely unstoppable.

Toppo May Just Be A User Of Ultra Ego Already, Since He's A Destroyer

Toppo Already Has The Power Of A Destroyer

First Appearance

Dragon Ball Super, Episode 78, "Even The Universes' Gods Are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power!"

Story Arc

Universe Survival Saga

  • Toppo's God of Destruction powers already make him a likely candidate.

One of the biggest surprises in the Tournament of Power was when Toppo finally accepted his role as the next Destroyer for Universe 11, allowing him to awaken the incredible powers of a God of Destruction. With these powers, very few were even able to stand up to him since his aura and Ki were capable of completely erasing others' attacks. Due to his new role as a Destroyer, many believe that he may already have Ultra Ego to an extent.

I won't be fighting for justice any longer. That side of me is through...

Ultra Ego is the inherent technique of the Destroyers of the multiverse, so it's only natural to assume that anyone who takes up this role also gets it as a perk of the position. Of course, Toppo didn't display it during the Tournament of Power, but in the time that has passed since it ended, it's very likely that Toppo not only trained, but also got more accustomed to his new abilities, awakening Ultra Ego in the process.

Majin Buu Would Be A Unique And Crafty User Of Ultra Ego, Though Unlikely

The Powerful Demon

First Appearance

Dragon Ball Z, Episode 232, "Buu is Hatched"

Story Arc

Buu Saga

  • Buu could be a potential user of Ultra Ego.

In an incredibly unorthodox pick for this power, Buu may be someone for whom it works well. Of course, Ultra Ego is one of the most difficult Martial Arts techniques to learn across the entire multiverse, and Buu isn't exactly the kind of character who prioritizes technical refinement, but functionally, Ultra Ego works perfectly with Buu's unique body and arsenal, which may even hold the key to even Vegeta evolving this form.

Now you'll see what happens to those I hate!

Buu is described as a Majin, or demon, who hails from the Demon Realm. Because of this, his physiology is completely unlike anyone else, as his body can take on a soft and spongy form that makes it incredible for absorbing damage. This, combined with Ultra Ego, would straight up be overpowered, since the biggest criticism of the technique currently is the fact that the damage can get far too much for the user to handle, but if it's absorbed, it can make the perfect version that won't hurt the user but would still make them stronger.

Dragon Ball can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
