Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it will stream Dragon Ball Daima with subtitles starting October 11. The simulcast will be available to stream in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, and Southeast Asia.

Fuji TV previously announced that the series will air in a new programming block on Fridays at 11:40 PM.

More Voice Actors Revealed

Daima’s first episode will air with a 10-minute longer runtime than usual. It will premiere as part of the Dragon Ball Daimatsuri event on October 6. The event will be held at Tokyo Big Sight, with cast members attending two of the three scheduled screenings.

Masako Nozawa will reprise her role as Goku. Other cast members include Yumiko Kobayashi (Crayon Shin-Chan’s Shin-chan, Soul Eater’s Black Star) as Supreme Kai, Koki Uchiyama (My Hero Academia’s Tomura Shigaraki, Horimiya’s Izumi Miyamura) as Glorio, Fairouz Ai (Chainsaw Man’s Power, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean’s Jolyne Kuujou) as Panzy, Showtaro Morikubo (Naruto’s Shikamaru, Persona 4’s Yousuke Hanamura) as Gomah, Junya Enoki (Jujutsu Kaisen’s Yuuji Itadori, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind’s Pannacotta Fugo)as Degesu, and Yoko Hikasa (High School DxD’s Rias Gremory, K-ON!’s Mio) as Dr. Arinsu.

Daima is the last Dragon Ball project series creator Akira Toriyama worked on prior to his passing. The legendary mangaka contributed to both the story and character designs. Toriyama released a statement teasing his involvement in the project when it was first announced at NYCC 2023:

Hello. I'm Akira Toriyama.

I'm currently working on a new Dragon Ball.

The title is "Dragon Ball DAIMA".

"DAIMA" is a made-up term, which in Japanese characters would be " 大魔" or in English would be something like "Evil."

Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends are turned small.

In order to fix things, they'll head off to a new world!

It's a grand adventure with intense action in an unknown and mysterious world.

Since Goku has to make up for his petite size, he uses his Nyoibo (Power Pole) to fight, something not seen in a long time.

I came up with the story and settings, as well as a lot of the designs.

I'm actually putting a lot more into this than usual!

Things will unfold that close in on the mysteries of the Dragon Ball world.

Yoshitaka Yashima (Dragon Ball Super) and Aya Komaki (One Piece) will direct the series, with Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru adapting Toriyama’s designs. Yuuko Kakihara (Digimon Adventure tri.) is handling the scripts.

The opening theme song “Jaka Jaan” is composed by Grammy Award-winning artist Zedd with singer-songwriting duo CLIEVY and KEEN providing vocals. Yukinojo Mori, who contributed to iconic Dragon Ball songs “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA” and “Limit Break x Survivor”, is credited as the song’s lyricist. Zedd also produced the ending theme, “NAKAMA” which features lyrics written and sung by singer-songwriter AI.
