With Dragon Ball Daima exploring the Demon Realm as part of the world, there are a lot of surprises for most new people and even veterans of the series. One of those surprises is that the Demon Realm is separated into three worlds. It is one of those Three Worlds where for the majority of the story we have witnessed Goku explore for the most part, the Third Demon World, and therefore, it is our introduction into the fantastical, weird world of Demons in Dragon Ball.
To which there always comes the question, of what exactly is the Third Demon World? What is it environment like, what makes it different compared to the rest of the Demon Worlds, as well as just in general, different compared to the normal world of Dragon Ball? That is what this article aims to explain, and there is a lot of world-building to go through.
Third Demon World's Basics
The Building Blocks
To take the differences between the Third Demon World, it's best to establish the air of the world. No, seriously, the air of the Third Demon World is noticeably thicker than the air on Earth or in the normal world. This is important, as it is the main reason why the residents of this world take other forms of transportation like ships, on foot, or even minor gliding, as opposed to full-blown flying. This shows especially when Goku exerted too much effort that flying in the Third Demon World proved to be taxing on his body, making it potentially dangerous, especially with the Sea of Darkness being a threat if you fell into it.
The Sea of Darkness in particular is part of the landscape of the desert-like Third Demon World, a hazardous cloudy abyss that holds monsters and will instantly kill any who fall into it. Another important detail is that there are reminders of King Dabura, who used to be the ruler of the entire Demon Realm for a while, and there are villages and cities, although they seem to be very much spread out from each other and separated by desert and other Demons that are monstrous.
However, it also clearly shows that the citizens of the Third Demon World are in constant subjugation as well as oppression by the Demon Military Police, the Gendarmerie, who constantly ask them to pay a toll of currency, and if unable to pay with currency, they pay with their life force. This manages to show the building blocks about how the Third Demon World is perceived, despite being the largest world in the Demon Realm. It seems to be the common Demon World, where most residents are, but they are treated normally and usually, many of them have nothing other than some businesses.
The Third Demon World overall has a lot of basic world-building blocks that make it interesting and very different for Goku to explore. However, other details bear mentioning and remembering about this world.

Why They Matter
There is a magically barred hole that is supposedly supposed to lead to the Second Demon World, or at least be a different passage between Demon Worlds. However, a long time ago, a Supreme Demon King blocked it and now the Demon Realm residents can only travel through Sir Warp, giant fish-shaped creatures that allow people to go through the Demon Worlds as well as the regular world and dimension where Goku and Vegeta come from.
While this may be a small detail, it is also important because the residents of the First Demon World are the only ones given explicit permission to use Sir Warp, whereas the Third Demon World residents have no real means or permission to use the codes to warp.
At the same time, there is a hierarchy in the Third Demon World as well, since there is a King who rules the world and a Princess who wants to help her kind remove the necklaces that make them easy to track and find for the Gendarmerie. However, Goku has met these characters and, through helping them, has managed to become their ally and vice versa; the Third Demon World itself is now on the side of Goku thanks to his actions and proving himself against Tamagami Number 3.
Needless to say, the Third Demon World is only one of three worlds that have yet to be explored in full and completely. Dragon Ball Daima has managed to catch the interest of a lot of people for surprising intentions, especially now that we have a closer look at how the Demon Realm works or looks when compared to the rest. Now that the audience knows this, Dragon Ball Daima needs to keep our interest in the Second Demon Realm as the main cast keeps exploring the world.
