Dragon Ball is one of the most legendary anime to ever be created. Highly considered the greatest of all time, Dragon Ball holds a lengthy history spanning forty years and has continued to expand its universe with new stories and characters. The late Akira Toriyama will be a permanent figure in anime history who paved the way for every author who came after him.

It's common knowledge that Goku is the strongest character in the Dragon Ball series. However, there are many others who possess just as much power who have accomplished amazing feats throughout the series. One of the most popular characters is Goku's son, Gohan. While Gohan may not be the fighter his father is, he still has a sizable list of accomplishments, which make him more impressive considering some of his most OP moments occurred when he was a child. Here are some of Gohan's most overpowered moments in the Dragon Ball series.

Gohan Vs. Bojack

One Of Gohan's Most Impressive Moments

The Dragon Ball movies are not directly considered canon, but ignoring their contribution to the legacy of Dragon Ball would be doing them a disservice. At the top of the list, one of Gohan's most impressive moments is his fight against the alien space pirate Bojack.

Through happenstance, Bojack found himself on Earth and proceeded to wreak havoc. The Z fighters quickly met him on the battlefield, minus Goku but including future Trunks. Bojack tore through the earth's protectors, taking them on all at once and barely breaking a sweat. It wasn't until Gohan let go of his limits that he turned the tables on Bojack and his posse, obliterating them in an instant.

Gohan Decimates The Cell Jr's

Cell's Tournament Goes Off The Hinges

One of Gohan's most defining arcs was during the Cell Saga. The perfect android had constructed a tournament to determine the fate of the world and offered the Z fighters a chance to fight for its survival. The final battle came down to Gohan vs. Cell, a clash filled with unexpected moments, including Gohan being the first to achieve Super Saiyan 2.

Pushed to the edge after seeing his loved ones beaten and bruised, once Gohan let go of his limits, he also let go of his restraint. The Cell Jr.'s were eviscerated with single blows that showed just how strong Gohan had become in a short amount of time.

Briefly Overpowering Frieza's Second Form

Gohan Surpasses His Limits Against Frieza

Frieza is one of the most sinister villains in all of Dragon Ball. Having fought nearly all the living Saiyans, one of Freiza's most shocking assaults came at the hands of a young Gohan on Namek. Freiza had transformed into his second form and began toying with Krillin, Gohan, and Vegeta.

Unfortunately, Frieza pushed Gohan too far by skewering Krillin and tossing him aside like trash. Flying into a rage, Gohan surprised even Vegeta as he tried to end the arc early and take out Frieza by himself, coming closer than any expected.

Gohan Unleashes His Full Potential Against Super Buu

The New And Improved Gohan Makes Light Work of Super Buu

During the Buu Saga, Gohan went through a number of changes and adventures. One of which took him to the realm of the Supreme Kai, who unlocked Gohan's potential and granted him unrivaled power. Gohan's new-found strength in his ultimate form made his Super Saiyan transformation obsolete and remains one of the most celebrated transformations of the character.

Upon arriving on Earth, Gohan confronted Super Buu, who had appeared unbeatable up until this point. In a shocking display, Gohan made Buu look like a child, outclassing him in strength, speed, and power.

Gut Checking Perfect Cell

One Punch Brings The Perfect Android To His Knees

One of Gohan's crowning achievements is unlocking Super Saiyan 2 during the Cell Saga. Backed into a corner with the weight of the world on his shoulders, Gohan finally snapped after a final request from Android 16, who was quickly snuffed out by Perfect Cell. Gohan's full strength was enough to make Cell quiver in his presence, but what followed this transformation is one of the most impressive feats in Gohan's history.

With a single strike to Cell's abdomen, Gohan all but made the cocky antagonist helpless. Dealing with far too much pain, Cell's body reacted to the blow by forcing him to regurgitate Android 18 and reverting him to his semi-perfect form.

Nearly One-Shoting Raditz

A Young Gohan Almost Takes His Uncle Out

In the early days of Dragon Ball Z, before the interstellar battles and divine transformations, Gohan's power was foreshadowed very early. During the arrival of Raditz, Gohan was kidnapped in an effort to force Goku to submit.

Unfortunately for Raditz, this backfired during his fight against Goku and Piccolo when Gohan lost it, watching his father be hurt and being helpless to stop him. In a fiery display, Gohan erupted from the Saiyan pod and met Raditz head on. With a stunning headbutt, Raditz was taken aback, shocked that he had been overpowered by a child.

Going Beast

Gohan Once Again Goes Beyond His Limits

Dragon Ball: Super Her o reintroduced the Red Ribbon Army to the Dragon Ball universe and put Gohan and Piccolo in the spotlight. Many fans considered Gohan to be wasting away on the sidelines, but this movie gave both main characters a considerable buff to their abilities.

The nefarious Red Ribbon army not only made two super soldiers, but even revitalized the android Cell in a frightening new form. Gohan had to reach deep into himself and unlock a new transformation called Beast. While not a lot of information has been provided about this new form, it is impressive to see Gohan achieve something his father hasn't.

Fighting Android 17 And 18 With One Arm

The Alternate Timeline Gohan Gives It His All

The alternate timeline that Future Trunks came to the present to warn the Z Fighters about is one of the bleakest outcomes for the Dragon Ball universe. With all the staple fighters having been defeated, Gohan defends the frontline by himself while training a young Trunks, which costs him an arm in the process.

The final battle between Future Gohan and the Androids kicks off, and while the Androids are incredibly powerful, Gohan gives it his all and makes his final stand. One-armed and focused, this is one of Gohan's best moments in the series, even if it does end with his tragic death.
