Senzu Beans are exceptional beans grown by Korin in his tower. They have the amazing ability to restore a person's physical condition to peak levels nearly instantly after being eaten. This makes them extremely useful to have in battle situations. Korin usually helps Goku and his friends by providing them with a bag of Senzu Beans since he is allied with them, though it takes a long time to grow even one bean, so the supply is limited.
The effects of Senzu Beans are quite versatile. After eating one, all fatigue disappears, and both stamina and ki reserves are fully replenished. Additionally, the person becomes completely nourished to the point that just one bean can keep a person fully fed for ten days. However, eating too many at once can result in an overstuffed feeling. Saiyans may feel hungry again sooner due to their naturally faster metabolisms.

Senzu Beans have the power to heal any physical harm. Things like bruises, burns, cuts, blood loss, damaged muscles or organs, missing teeth, broken or dislocated bones, and impalement or puncture wounds are fully repaired with no lingering effects. Senzu Beans were created by Korin, a legendary 800-year-old talking cat known for his immense martial arts skills. Despite his small size, Korin's power earned him the right to be sent from his world to assist Kami. He holds the sacred mystical water that greatly increases a fighter's speed and strength. This is why both Master Roshi and Goku sought him out.

Korin is the sole grower of Senzu Beans, cultivating them exclusively in his tower. The tower is the only location in the world where the beans are grown. They are notoriously difficult to grow and limited in number, so Korin only supplies them during desperate times. Despite this scarcity, from Dragon Ball Z onward, Korin's main role is providing the Z Fighters with Senzu Beans before tough battles. In Dragon Ball Online, it is revealed he eventually taught Yajirobe how to cultivate Senzu Beans. Yajirobe later descended from Korin Tower to become a Senzu Bean farmer, helping to expand the cultivation of these healing items.

Turning The Tides When Times Were Tough
Senzu Beans have appeared many times throughout the Dragon Ball franchise, playing an important supporting role. After beginning his training under Korin, the cat gave Goku a Senzu Bean to help with his growing hunger, as Korin's only food was Senzu Beans. Later, after being severely beaten by King Piccolo, Goku was taken to Korin by Yajirobe for help. Annoyed that all Korin had were Senzu Beans, Yajirobe recklessly ate several handfuls before learning of their magical healing properties, painfully swelling from the excess nutrients. Korin then gave Goku a single Senzu Bean, which mended his wounds.
During the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, Goku sustained critical injuries against Piccolo. After defeating Piccolo, Yajirobe gave Goku a Senzu Bean to heal him. Goku then gave Piccolo a Senzu Bean as well to ensure Kami's continued existence due to their life link.
After weeks of his body being crippled from fighting Vegeta, Korin grew Goku a bag of Senzu Beans, one of which fully restored him. On his trip to Namek, mishaps like gravity room malfunctions forced Goku to use more. Upon arriving, he healed Gohan, Krillin, and Vegeta with the remaining three after their injuries from Recoome.
In Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks, Future Gohan was left with only one Senzu Bean after losing his left arm in a fight against Future Android 17 and Future Android 18. Realizing that Future Trunks was more critically injured, Future Gohan selflessly gave the last Senzu Bean to Future Trunks to save his life.

During the Androids Saga, Yajirobe delivered another bag of Senzu Beans to the Z Fighters before their battle with the deadly Androids. When Yamcha was fatally wounded by Dr. Gero, he was healed just in time by a Senzu Bean. As Goku's mysterious heart virus took effect during his fight with Android 19, Krillin tossed Goku a Senzu Bean. However, it had no impact on curing the virus. After Vegeta defeated Android 19, Krillin gave Vegeta a Senzu Bean to replenish his stolen energy. When Piccolo had most of his power drained by Gero, Krillin provided a Senzu Bean for Piccolo's recovery. Later, the androids indifferently allowed Krillin to use a Senzu Bean to heal Piccolo, Future Trunks, Tien Shinhan, and Vegeta after they were beaten down in battle.

After Piccolo was defeated by Cell and Tien overexerted himself against Semi-Perfect Cell, they were saved by Goku giving them each a Senzu Bean. Later, when Future Trunks and Vegeta emerged from the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to face Perfect Cell, Goku provided Trunks with two Senzu Beans. When Cell kicked Krillin down, Trunks used a Senzu Bean to save him. After Cell beat Vegeta, Krillin gave Vegeta a Senzu Bean to recover. For the Cell Games, Korin provided them with a new bag of Senzu Beans. Following Goku's fight against Cell, he shocked everyone by throwing a Senzu Bean to Cell. He did this to ensure that when Gohan unleashed his power, Cell would have no doubt he was weaker than the half-Saiyan. When Cell created his Cell Juniors, he stole the bag of Senzu Beans from Krillin, leaving them with no aid. Super Saiyan 2 Gohan retrieved the bag and had Future Trunks give the remaining Senzu Beans to all their battered allies.

At the World Tournament, Goku teleported to Korin for Senzu Beans, receiving only three. Before facing Majin Vegeta, Goku gave Gohan a Senzu Bean for his battle with Babidi and Dabura. Eventually, Vegeta feigned teaming up with Goku only to knock him out and steal the final Senzu Bean.
In the New Space-Time War Saga, Hearts finds a Senzu Bean in Korin Tower shortly after arriving in the Pseudo Universe. He later gives the bean to Goku following their battle with the Crimson-Masked Saiyan, allowing Goku to regain his strength.
