Summary
- A new Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero update fixed Piccolo and Broly, improved stability, and more.
- Fans await DLC based on the Dragon Ball Daima series.
A brand-new Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero update has recently been shipped to players across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, bringing adjustments to Piccolo and Broly alongside other tweaks. It is the latest effort from developer Spike Chunsoft to streamline Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero and regain a portion of its launch engagement numbers.
The new Dragon Ball title pits iconic characters, such as Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and the like, in a team battle where the player can leverage the game's various combat mechanics to come out on top against the opposing team. Being the long-overdue sequel to 2007's Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero came out amid high anticipation in October 2024 and witnessed over 100K peak concurrent players on launch day on Steam alone. Thanks to such remarkable popularity, the critically praised release also moved over five million copies in nearly four months, becoming the fastest-selling Dragon Ball game on consoles. Most recently, certain useful tweaks arrived in a new update that also brings performance improvements.
Dragon Ball Games With The Most Complete Stories
There have been dozens of video games in the Dragon Ball franchise, but for players who enjoy a good narrative, these are the best ones to check out.
On March 4, 2025, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero devs rolled out a fresh update, version 2009.008.003.006.005, across PC and current-gen PlayStation and Xbox. Primarily, the patch brings changes to the Extreme Warrior Time Mode, in which the balancing has been adjusted. In the same game mode, a bug that enabled the lowering of Super Broly's stats by following a series of steps has also been resolved. As for the tweaks made to Piccolo and Orange Piccolo, the spirit and the stamina of the characters have been changed in a way that these attributes are restored only when transforming for the first time. Apart from these changes, a number of usability and stability fixes have also been incorporated in the latest update.
It's worth noting that the March update for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero arrives at an interesting time when fans await bigger content drops from Spike Chunsoft. After releasing the fighting game's first DLC in January 2025, the devs are set to roll out the next DLC by Q1 2025, which ends in March. The second and third expansions are both set to be based around 2024's Dragon Ball Daima, with playable characters from the anime series appearing in the game.
Ahead of the forthcoming DLC's launch, the hype among fans for Dragon Ball Daima characters to land in Sparking Zero has been growing. Back in February 2025, a Dragon Ball Daima mod that added the Super Saiyan 4 transformation, as shown in the anime, into the game surfaced on the internet and attracted the community's attention.
