Summary

  • A player survey for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero may inform future DLC additions and updates.
  • Bandai Namco is asking fans what features they would be interested in, such as potential new characters, skins, stages, and an auto-play feature.
  • Confirmed DLC packs for the game will include characters from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and Dragon Ball Daima.

An official player survey for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero being held by Bandai Namco may provide some inside information on future updates or DLC coming to the anime-themed fighting game. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has seen a lot of players since its October debut, and its publisher seems to be trying to hone in on what will keep its fans' attention.

Developed by Spike Chunsoft, the game carries on the legacy of the popular Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series, which saw its last mainline numbered game released in 2007. Though Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has seen massive drops in player count a month after its release, its initial 24 hours on the market saw 3 million players picking it up, and additional content could be a way to draw those players back in.

Following the successful release of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, the fighting game's publisher threatens bans for certain players.

The survey issued by Bandai Namco asks players a series of questions about the game, like which platform they play it on, which version they purchased, how many hours they've spent playing it, and which modes they most enjoy. After getting the preliminary demographic questions out of the way, one question in the survey asks respondents what kinds of additional in-game content they would like to see in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. Options included in the list include more Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero characters and skins, cosmetic add-ons like accessories and weapons, new stages and areas, and an auto-play feature.

One of the options that fans of the game can choose from involves a season pass. This is one piece of content that Bandai Namco has already announced is coming, as it comes automatically packaged with the game's Deluxe and Ultimate editions and can be purchased separately for $34.99. A Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero DLC release schedule for 2025 lists two coming content updates in the first quarter of the year and a third in the second quarter. Each of these upcoming DLC packs will include additions to the character roster, with the first one adding more than 20 characters from the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie. The following two packs will include an unspecified number of characters from the new Dragon Ball Daima anime series, which debuted on October 11 and features many of the franchise's popular heroes transformed into children.

Still, the list of options included in the survey question shows that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero DLC may not just be new characters. The list runs the gamut from new story content and scenarios to emotes and the addition of a soundtrack, which makes it seem as though Bandai Namco is open to a lot of different opinions about where to take the game next.
