Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has reportedly sold over five million copies worldwide, solidifying the game's remarkable success following its October 2024 launch. With additional content scheduled to be released for the fighting game soon, 2025 may be another banner year for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

Given the continued popularity of the franchise as a whole, the immediate success of the latest Dragon Ball title came as little surprise to many in the community. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero sold three million copies in its first 24 hours on the market, with those eager for a new entry in the Budokai Tenkaichi series showing up in droves to see their favorite characters on the battlefield once again. Featuring over 180 characters at launch, Sparking Zero promises to add even more in the near future via a selection of DLC packs, keeping players engaged well into the new year. Months after launch, Sparking Zero is reporting another massive sales achievement.

According to publisher Bandai Namco and developer Spike Chunsoft, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has sold over five million copies worldwide, making it the fastest-selling Dragon Ball console game to date. In November 2024, Sparking Zero was revealed to be the fourth best-selling game of the year and the third highest-selling Bandai Namco game of all time, beaten only by the FromSoftware juggernauts Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring. While the game has seen player counts drop following its wildly successful launch, it still maintains a dedicated core community of players, with future updates likely to bring some fans back.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Sells Over Five Million Copies Globally

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's January 2025 update included the limited-time Legendary Warrior Face-Off mode, along with adjustments to the title's other modes, including Episode Battle, Custom Battle, Ranked Match, and more. The "Hero of Justice" DLC for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero was also released in early 2025, adding three custom battles and 11 new characters, including Ultimate Gohan, Giant Piccolo, Cell Max and Gamma 1 and 2.

While no release date has been announced for the second round of DLC content, it has been confirmed that Sparking Zero will add Dragon Ball Daima characters in early 2025. Vegeta (Mini) and Glorio from the newest Dragon Ball anime series will appear on the game's roster in the coming months, with a third round of DLC also planned for release later in the year. Dragon Ball Daima premiered globally on October 11 and follows the adventures of Goku and friends after they are transformed into children by the new Demon Realm King Gomah.
