  • While overshadowed by heavy hitters, these characters have varied movesets and abilities for entertaining battles.
  • Characters like Mr. Satan and Chiaotzu, despite being weak, provide fun challenges for players seeking a different experience in the game.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero boasts the largest roster of any Dragon Ball game and one of the most extensive lineups in fighting game history. Though a few key characters are missing at launch, nearly every major fighter across the franchise is included, from the original Dragon Ball all the way up to Dragon Ball Super. D espite such a massive roster, most players naturally gravitate solely towards the heavy hitters, like Beerus, Ultra Instinct Goku, or SSJ4 Gogeta, as soon as they fire up the game.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – 7 Best Ability Items

When the fighting gets too intense, Ability Items in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero can turn the tide of battle by granting a variety of potent buffs.

As a result, the weaker characters tend to get overlooked. While these characters might lack power, their movesets and animations were crafted with just as much care. Plus, they can make for some very entertaining battles. For confident players looking for a challenge, these low-tier fighters can be really fun to try out — especially in the online DP Battles.

5 Chiaotzu

Arguably The Weakest Z Fighter

Despite his heroic sacrifice during the Saiyan Saga, where he self-destructed in a desperate attempt to stop Nappa, Chiaotzu has never quite received the love he deserves in the anime or the manga. While most of his fellow Z Fighters have gone through countless powerups, Chiaotzu has largely been left behind.

Unfortunately, this lack of growth carries over to Sparking! Zero, where he ranks among the weakest characters in the game. While he does have some decent special moves, including one that can paralyze his opponent, his overall damage output is nothing to write home about. To make matters worse, his Ultimate Attack is self-destructive, causing him to die after using it.

4 Master Roshi

A Teacher Far Surpassed By His Students

Fans of Dragon Ball Z and Super who haven't seen the original Dragon Ball series might not realize just how pivotal of a character Master Roshi is. As Goku and Krillin's first real martial arts teacher, he taught them essential techniques, including the iconic Kamehameha. However, after his students grew up and became immensely powerful, Roshi took a step back into a more peaceful life at the Kame House.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – 6 Moves You Need To Master

The combat in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero isn't overly challenging, there are still some key moves that every player must master.

1

In Sparking! Zero, Master Roshi's weak moveset and damage output reflect this. While he has some decent defensive abilities, his attacks do not hit hard at all. Worst of all, he cannot fly, which puts him at a significant disadvantage against most of the game's roster. That said, he does have the ability to transform into his Max Power form, but the damage boost that provides is still not enough to make him a major threat in battle.

3 Videl

Exceptional For A Human, But Still Not Strong Enough

For a human, Videl is undeniably an exceptional fighter in Dragon Ball. Despite being the daughter of Mr. Satan, she chose to receive most of her training from Gohan, who eventually became her husband. Under his guidance, she learned to control her Ki and even mastered the ability to fly. Yet regardless of how talented she is, her power level still pales in comparison to almost every other character in the show, especially the non-humans.

In Sparking! Zero, Videl is a lot stronger than her father, but that isn't really saying much. She has a small health bar and deals minimal damage. Despite her surprisingly useful moveset, including an ability that allows her to instantly enter Sparking! Mode, she just lacks the raw power to make her a formidable fighter relative to the other characters in the game.

2 Saibaman

The Most Explosive Fighter, But Not In A Good Way

While the Saibamen would pose no real threat to the Z Fighters now, these little green guys were terrifying back in the Saiyan Saga, even managing to take down Yamcha in one of the most iconic moments in Dragon Ball history. Despite their menacing past, in Sparking! Zero, the Saibaman is more of a novelty pick rather than a serious fighter.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – 7 Of The Strongest Ultimate Blast Attacks

When Dragon Ball characters face each other down in this fighting game, these Ultimate Blast Attacks can steal the match.

The only upside to this character is his speed; he's more than fast enough to give inexperienced players a hard time dodging attacks. He also comes with a paralysis ability, but it's very difficult to land. Easily the worst aspect of this character is his Ultimate Attack, which mirrors the anime by being self-destructive. What's somewhat humorous about this move is that, if the opponent has a lot of health, it won't even be strong enough to KO them, making it more of a gimmick than a viable strategy in basically anything other than DP Battles.

1 Mr. Satan

The Least Powerful, But Most Fun Character

To absolutely no one's surprise, the weakest character in Sparking! Zero is none other than Mr. Satan. His lackluster power makes complete sense, as he's canonically one of the least powerful characters in the series. However, many forget that, for a human, he's actually a highly capable fighter, but when universe-destroying characters are put around him, he winds up looking (and acting) like a goofball.

In Sparking! Zero, Mr. Satan cannot fly, cannot teleport, barely does any damage with his attacks, and is overall as weak as a character can be. His only saving grace is his Ultimate Attack, where Majin Buu makes a surprise entrance and does the dirty work for him. Even then, it does pitiful damage compared to the other Ultimates in the game. If players are looking for a real challenge in combat, Mr. Satan is definitely the character they'll want to pick.
