Throughout the entire run of the Dragon Ball franchise, it can safely be said that fusion is one of the most beloved concepts in the entire series. Whether it's done through the Metamoran Dance or the Potara Earrings, the very idea of merging two already powerful warriors into a singular powerhouse who is even greater has been one of the best in the entire anime industry.
Throughout the series, there have been many fusions, most of whom are warriors while a few aren't. However, despite this, there are five fusions that can confidently exist as the most powerful in the entirety of Dragon Ball, so in this article, let's break down the strongest fusions in the entire series.
Dragon Ball: 5 Strongest Characters in the Granolah the Survivor Arc, Ranked
The Granolah arc was the one to introduce some of the most powerful characters in the setting, so let's see who the 5 strongest were!
Gotenks Was Young And Brash, But Was Incredibly Powerful
The Union of Goten and Trunks
- A prodigy who achieved Super Saiyan 3.
Of all the fusions in the setting, Gotenks is perhaps the most prodigious of them all. Shortly after his inception, Gotenks showed the ability to transform into a Super Saiyan 3, which is incredibly impressive since Goten and Trunks could only go Super Saiyan, meaning he achieved this state after they came across Goku's rendition of the form just once.
Gotenks was incredibly powerful as he was able to go toe-to-toe with Super Buu for a time, who was the most powerful villain in the series at that point. However, what sets him apart in the general ranking of the series is that he was very young and inexperienced with his own power, and he overshot his capabilities greatly. Although undoubtedly powerful, Gotenks needs more experience and a huge power-up to keep up in the future.
Kefla Was The Strongest Fusion In The Entire Tournament Of Power
The Union of Kale and Caulifla
- One of the strongest contestants in the Tournament of Power.
It came as a massive shock to everyone when Grand Zeno revealed that fusions were suddenly allowed in the Tournament of Power, which prompted every fan to start thinking about Vegito or Gogeta. However, the main fusion that fans got was Kefla, an incredibly powerful warrior formed from the union of Kale and Caulifla, the strongest Saiyans of Universe 6.
Kefla was the biggest asset that Universe 6 had at their disposal, and she proved to have all the power that they were hoping for. Due to being formed from the fusion of two incredible warriors who had achieved Super Saiyan 2 and beyond, Kefla managed to go up against Ultra Instinct Omen Goku in the anime and Ultimate Gohan in the manga, both of whom are legendary fighters.
It's Time To Finally Welcome The New Dragon Ball Z Replacement
Dragon Ball Z is a fan favorite anime. This new anime could be a great replacement for it.
Merged Zamasu Brought Forth The Powers Of Two Gods
The Union of Two Zamasus
- A malevolent deity.
Merged Zamasu was the product of the Kai forming two versions of himself and forcing them to fuse through the Time Rings and the Potara Earrings. What resulted was Merged Zamasu, who was so powerful that he was going blow for blow against Super Saiyan Blue Vegito, who was the universe's most powerful character at that point in the story.
The fight actually wasn't one-sided either, with Merged Zamasu actually holding his own quite well. One of the major standouts in this fight was Zamasu's incredible durability, with him even completely tanking Vegito's ultimate move, the Final Kamehameha, and coming out of the confrontation relatively unscathed.
Vegito Blue Almost Killed A God With His Unreal Strength
The Potara Union of Goku and Vegeta
- The ultimate fusion.
Vegito has always been hyped up as the ultimate warrior or fusion, and for good reason. In his first appearance, he absolutely embarrassed the most powerful version of Majin Buu that has ever been formed and in his second appearance, he was even winning against Merged Zamasu. Throughout the fight, he had the upper hand against Merged Zamasu but ultimately couldn't finish the job due to the limitations of the Potara Earrings.
For many fans, placing Vegito as the second most powerful fusion in the series is quite controversial. However, this isn't because of strength, since him and Gogeta are equally powerful in every respect, but because of the stability of the fusion, since the Potara Earrings timed out Vegito's fusion due to his incredible power output before the 30 minutes were up, whereas the Fusion Dance keeps a 30-minute fusion regardless of the power output.
Dragon Ball: How Goku And Vegeta's New Fusion Could Be The Strongest
Dragon Ball Daima has introduced a brand-new method of fusion with the Join Bugs, so here's how this fusion method could be the strongest!
Gogeta Is The Strongest And Most Stable Fusion In The Series
The Metamoran Union of Goku and Vegeta
- The strongest Saiyan.
As stated previously, the only advantage that Gogeta has over Vegito is the fact that the fusion will never time out before the 30-minutes are up, since their power is exactly the same. Of course, the Fusion Dance is incredibly tricky to pull off in the first place, but doing so leads to the most stable fusion that makes full use of the incredible power of its constituents.
Just like Vegito, Gogeta can now also use his Super Saiyan Blue form due to the mastery over it that Goku and Vegeta have, making him even stronger than before. When he went Blue against Broly, fans noticed that he didn't sustain a single hit, which truly shows just how otherworldly Gogeta's power truly is.
