Ever since the start of Dragon Ball Super, the strongest beings in the entire multiverse have been made quite clear. Although the Angels are the greatest of them all, the Gods of Destruction follow shortly after, especially when considering that their attendants take a passive, mentorship role for them. Even among these Destroyers, Beerus stands out as perhaps the strongest of them all.

Because of his otherworldly strength, not even Goku and Vegeta in their Divine Transformations can hope to challenge him, putting him far above the strongest mortals in the multiverse. However, this may have changed in Chapter 103 of the Dragon Ball Super manga, where the series' most iconic villain debuted his new form and showed one of the craziest feats of power in the series, convincing many that he may be stronger than Beerus.

Why Black Frieza Could Potentially Be Even Stronger Than Beerus

The Granolah arc saw some of the most important moments in the history of the franchise, particularly within the Super section. From the unveiling of Vegeta's Ultra Ego to the awakening of the most accurate version of Ultra Instinct for Goku, the arc was filled with incredible moments that not only changed the power scaling of the series but also cemented the roster of Universe 7 going forward.

However, no moment in the entire arc was as surprising as the eventual reintroduction of Frieza into Super. While everyone couldn't wait to see the villain for the first time since the Tournament of Power ended, none could have predicted how he would return, since he did so with a brand-new transformation that shook the very foundations of the multiverse. By spending the equivalent of 10 years in a Hyperbolic Time Chamber on a random planet that he conquered, Frieza managed to unlock his 'Black Frieza' form, which made full use of his otherworldly potential.

Although fans have yet to see this transformation in its full glory in a proper battle, they are already convinced that it makes the iconic villain even stronger than Beerus. The main reason for this is when he faced Goku and Vegeta in their strongest forms which make use of the Divine Techniques; Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego, respectively. Naturally, the Saiyans at this stage were stronger than ever before, so, at the very least, fans were expecting them to put up somewhat of a fight.

However, what followed was one of the biggest humiliations that anyone in the series has ever faced, as Black Frieza managed to take out both Goku and Vegeta with a single punch, despite the two using their strongest Divine Forms. This means that the villain's speed was far too great for even Ultra Instinct to react to, and the force of his blow was strong enough to completely negate Ultra Ego's tanking abilities.

It's known that, due to his nature as a Destroyer, Beerus is a master of Ultra Ego and can also use Ultra Instinct to a degree, so he is above everyone else in the series who isn't an Angel. However, Frieza proved to be far stronger than two of the most powerful mortals in the series at the time, showing that his power is, at least, on the same level as Beerus. Of course, a substantial debate about this cannot be made since both Black Frieza and Beerus have never shown their full power, but many speculations do arise.

Frieza has always been known as Dragon Ball's most iconic, and arguably its best, villain. So, it's clear that the story arc with him as the final foe will be one of the series' last. At that stage, it would make sense for him to be even stronger than Beerus, since Goku and Vegeta would need to give everything they have in order to take him down. So, for now, fans can only wait with bated breath to see where the story will go regarding this character.

Why Beerus May Still Be Stronger Than Frieza And Everyone Else

The Greatest Destroyer

Beerus' level may be one that the heroes can never reach.

Conversely, due to his role within the story, Beerus is treated more like a moving goalpost than anything else. What this essentially means is that he is a yardstick to constantly measure Goku and Vegeta's strength by, since each time they get a power-up, Beerus is explained as being even stronger than that, so they have a new benchmark to reach. Due to this, many believe that his level will never be met by the heroes.

By having Beerus remain like this, there will always be a character whom the heroes simply can't contend with. It would also make the story feel more grounded in a sense, since the power fantasy of having the Saiyans exponentially grow in power until they leave everyone behind can get old, so Beerus being the ultimate force in Universe 7 may just be what the Dragon Ball story needs.
