Dragon Ball Z Kakarot has released its newest update for July, which features content from the Dragon Ball Daima anime. This is the first major story update in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot since the introduction of the Tournament of Power story in 2023.
The action RPG Dragon Ball Z Kakarot was originally released back in January 2020. In it, players once again step into the shoes of Goku as he embarks on the story seen in the Dragon Ball Z anime. While the gameplay is primarily centered around Goku, the other Z Fighters can be played as well, such as Gohan and Vegeta. The game has received constant updates since its release in the form of DLC, adding stories from other series in the Dragon Ball franchise, including Super and even the original Dragon Ball, allowing fans to play the Tournament of Power arc in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot.

This is being further expanded with the newest update release. Players can now experience the Dragon Ball Daima story, and the update can be downloaded now ahead of its official release on July 17. While it will mainly stick to the story from the anime, there will be some added content expanding the lore, and the new adventure will come with some new features added to Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. As the name of the DLC is "DAIMA: Adventure Through the Demon Realm Part 1," this DLC will likely only cover around the first half of the anime story, with Part 2 set to release early next year.
Future Dragon Ball Daima Content is on the Way
The Dragon Ball Daima content doesn't stop here. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot previously announced the release of Part 2 with a release window between January and March 2026. This DLC will feature the rest of the Daima story and likely end where the anime did. Players who have purchased the "Adventure Through the Demon Realm Pack" will gain access to both parts of the DLC story, along with a Pack Bonus and a few extra items to help them get their new journey started.
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot recently hit a sales milestone and has been fairly well-received by fans since its initial release.
