Dragon Quest 1 HD-2D Remake players can run into a musician named Zalen early on in their adventure, and you can keep meeting him in multiple locations to eventually earn Erdrick's Helm and also get the 'A New Song of Erdrick' trophy/achievement.

You will also need to reach the end of this questline to earn one of the 40 Mini Medals. Specifically, you will reach a location called Western Isle.

Zalen Questline Guide for Dragon Quest 1 H-2D Remake (A New Song of Erdrick)
Forgotten Ruins
The first place where you'll meet Zalen is in the Forgotten Ruins, which is a landmark south of the Shrine of Rain and east (over the water) of Wayfarer's Chapel. It's in the northern middle of the map, so you can access it in the early hours of the story. Once you arrive, you'll see an exclamation point over Zalen's head, ready to chat with you.
Nameless Ruins
The next location to find Zalen is in the Nameless Ruins. These are on the west side of the map, just southwest of Craggy Cave and south of the Roadside Inn.
Damdara
For the next spot, travel to Damdara in the southwest. It's over the mountain and southwest of Faerie Village and north of the Citadel of the Monarch of Medals.
Cantlin
Cantlin is the next location where Zalen will show up. It's in the southeastern quadrant of the map (east of Wayfarer's Inn and northwest of Shrine of the Spirit). You can find Zalen standing on a bridge near the ponds in the middle of the town.
Galenholm
Galenholm is the next destination for the Zalen questline (it's in the far northwest corner of the map). Zalen will be hanging out by the beach once you make it there. After speaking to him, the next place you need to visit is....
Field of Flowers
The Field of Flowers is in the southwest quadrant of the map, not far from the Mini Medal Monarch. Once you get there, you'll have a conversation with the Over-Seer.
Shrine of Rain
From the Field of Flowers, you can use Zoom to make your way to the Shrine of Rain in the north to speak with Dream-Whisperer. She'll take you to a new location called the Western Isle, which is an island west of Tantegel where Edrick first set foot in Alefgard.
Western Isle
Go to the left side of the area to examine the grave to find Erdrick's Helm. When you're ready to go, speak to the Dream Whisperer.
Rimuldar
And for the last step to finish Zalen's questline to get the 'A New Song of Erdrick' trophy, we'll need to visit Rimuldar. It's on the east side of the map, north of the Cave of the Dwarves.
If you speak to Zalen (he'll be near some benches near some water), the questline will come to an end, and you'll get to watch the last cutscene for his arc.
