Orichalcum is one of the hardest materials to find in Dragon Quest 11: Echoes Of An Elusive Age. Despite being so rare, it is needed for many late-game weapons and gear, and you won't come by many of these naturally even when completing a lot of the side content in the game.

While it is possible to farm this resource, there are some restrictions on it, and you won't be able to invest a lot of time into getting however many you need, as the game will naturally space out how often you get a single chunk. Here's how to farm Orichalcum and the restrictions around doing so.

Dragon Quest 11: Best Protagonist Build

The Protagonist has the most potential of any party member in Dragon Quest 11; here's the best build for him throughout the game.

How To Farm Orichalcum In Dragon Quest 11

Orichalcum is farmed from blue crystal clusters in a very few select locations in the game. Once one of these crystal clusters is mined, you'll have to leave that area and return after about ten to fifteen minutes later for the crystal to resupply. The most reliable and easy-to-reach place is found in the end-game location The Battleground. Travel to this location and explore it until you reach the Campsite found halfway through the dungeon.

This campsite will act as a fast-travel location, and from there, continue further through floor 4 to to vine leading to the lower level. Now on level 8, follow the narrow path and back into the tunnel to see a blue crystal straight ahead, though this one won't drop Orichalcum. Take a right and head up the large winding slope to the gated door on level 9. The gated door can be opened with the Ultimate Key, and along the back wall will be a blue crystal cluster that will always spawn an Orichalcum. Travel here every fifteen minutes to slowly farm Orichalcum.

Inside the gated room will be a large monster that can be easily avoided by hugging the edge of the room to the back where the crystal is found.

Noteworthy Recipes That Need Orichalcum

While there are many recipes that require Orichalcum, the following recipes are some of the best:

  • Meteorite Bracer
  • Minerva's Tiara
  • Elfin Charm
  • Heaven's Talon

Meteorite Bracers boost a character's agility by 100 even in its base form and is great for most party members as agility helps them go first in combat. It's also useful as Agility works on any party member, so crafting one and finding a better accessory for that party member, later on, means you can equip it on anyone else to make sure your Orichalcum didn't go to waste.
