After encountering Trysha during the Spellbound quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, she requests players' help to get a Grimoire from her father’s house in Checkpoint Rest Town to pursue her magick studies. Upon gaining entry to Trysha’s father's residence, Myrddin will get intrigued by the Arisens’ intentions and propose a challenge.
Myrddin tasks players with demonstrating their determination by acquiring the same five Grimoires his daughter seeks. However, instead of fetching him the authentic copies, Arisens must deliver him the counterfeit copies to fulfill The Sorcerer's Appraisal quest and the Spellbound quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

How To Trigger The Sorcerer's Appraisal Quest In Dragon’s Dogma 2
To trigger the Sorcerer's Appraisal quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, players must enter Myrddin's House in Checkpoint Rest Town. Trysha’s father will only let Arisens enter his house when they equip the Courtly Breeches and Courtly Tunic. Acquiring the attire requires players to purchase it from Philbert’s Sundries, complete The Ornate Box quest, or find it while exploring the Noble Quart or Vernworth Palace.
After equipping the Courtly set, head to Myrddin’s House and talk to him. Inside the house, Myrddin will ask players to collect five Grimoires in exchange for his magick knowledge. He requests the following Grimoires:

Towering EarthNation’s Death Knell Location
Nation’s Death Knell Grimoire is located inside the Waterfall Cave east of Borderwatch Outpost. Inside the Cave, players should make their way to the second floor, but be aware as it's filled with Saurians. After arriving at the second floor, make your way to the end of the cave to locate the Treasure Chest that contains the required Grimoire.
If Arisens completes the Tolled to Rest quest, they will find another original copy of the Nation’s Death Knell Grimoire inside the Cenotaph.
Howling Blizzard Location
Players will acquire the Howling Blizzard Grimoire alongside the Nation’s Death Knell Grimoire in Waterfall Cave. Opening the Treasure Chest will spawn a Wight. Defeat it to get 150 RC, Eminent Coat, and Black Crystal in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Fulminous Shield Location
Players can buy the Fulminous Shield from Dudley at Melve for 5000 Gold in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Dudley would state that he had picked up this book after the Dragon’s attack on Melve.
Towering Earth Location
The Towering Earth Grimoire is in the possession of Waldhar, who can be found at two different locations. If players previously completed The Caged Magistrate quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, Waldhar will be located inside The Gracious Hand’s Vaults. However, if the quest has not been completed yet, they can find him in a cell beneath the palace.
Let There Be Light Location
Arisens can obtain the There Be Light Grimoire from Myrddin’s study on the second floor. Players can equip the Courtly set to enter his house casually, or climb the mountain behind the house and sneak in.
How To Complete The Sorcerer's Appraisal Quest In Dragon’s Dogma 2
To complete The Sorcerer's Appraisal quest in Dragons Dogma 2, head to Ibrahim’s Scrap Store and fabricate all five books. This step is crucial since the same Grimoires are needed to complete the Spellbound quest.
After acquiring the fake books, go back to Myrddin’s House and give him the counterfeit Grimoires to acquire Ares Morpho Robe, 11,000 Gold, and Myrddin’s Chronicle. He will also teach Arisens and their Main Pawn the Sorcerer-Maister’s teaching, Maelstrom's spell, for the Sorcerer Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
