Cinderspine is a unique hammer in Dragon's Dogma 2 that's one of the few weapons to have a permanent elemental blessing attached to them. This wicked great mace is capable of smashing and searing enemies simultaneously, dealing a mix of physical and magickal damage with every swing.
Wielding a flaming, two-handed mace is one of the coolest things players can do as a Warrior in Dragon's Dogma 2. However, it will take a while before players can get their hands on this awesome weapon. If you're looking to add Cinderspine to your collection, here's where you can find it.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Cinderspine Location
To get this weapon, you'll need to make your way to Mountain Base Cave in the Agamen Volcanic Island, the third major region of the game. To get there, players will normally need to progress through the story until they reach the Guardian Gigantus quest in Dragon's Dogma 2, which comes right after assembling the Empowered Godsbane in Battahl.
To get to Agamen Volcanic Island without having to complete the quest, players can instead pass through Drabnir's Grotto located south of Bakbattahl. From the city, head out the western gate, then follow the road that leads to the southwestern region. Fight through the grotto, and you'll eventually emerge on the southwestern edge of the island. Incidentally, the road from here also leads to the Mountain Base Cave.
Mountain Base Cave Walkthrough
The cave itself is a confusing network of narrow tunnels filled with sludges, zombies, and rattlers. Before heading here, it's best to bring a pawn with Ice-based boons or weapons. Alternatively, you can use the spellbooks found inside the cave itself to neutralize the flaming slimes and rock lizards.
Cinderspine is inside an ornate chest in the open area at the end of the cave network. To get there, you'll need to get to the second floor of the cave, then jump off a ledge. You likely won't have to worry about any fall damage or any risk of failure with this jump, so long as you sprint before you leap. Open the chest, and the weapon is yours.
This two-handed mace deals physical and fire damage in an approximate 7:3 ratio. It'll be most effective against monsters that fear flames, such as Griffins and most wild animals. However, if you find yourself fighting fire with fire, then expect Cinderspine to be less effective.
