Every vocation in Dragon's Dogma 2 has at least one ultimate skill that is unlocked by earning an associated Maister's Teaching. While players are likely to obtain a number of those scrolls while working through the game's main story and exploring its map, some of them can be a bit tricky to find. Indeed, players may have some trouble obtaining all the Maister's Skills in Dragon's Dogma 2, and this guide is written with those players in mind.
While this guide looks to remain as spoiler-free as possible, it does reveal the names of some mid- and late-game locations. Players who are attempting to avoid such details are thus advised to proceed with caution.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Point of No Return, Explained
Players who are concerned about passing the point of no return in Dragon's Dogma 2 can find all the information that they need in this guide.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Fighter Maister's Teaching Location
The Fighter's Maister's Teaching, Riotous Fury, is unlocked by defending the town of Melve against a dragon attack and then speaking with Lennart in that small town. For full clarity, the relevant dragon attack is triggered automatically by making story progress in Vernworth, and players will be prompted to return to Dragon's Dogma 2's Melve when the time is right.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Archer Maister's Teaching Location
Players who want to earn the Archer's Maister's Teaching, Heavenly Shot, must work through a quest series that is initiated by providing Glyndwr, an elf that can be found standing near the smithy in Vernwort, with a bow. The quests in that series are Gift of the Bow and A Trial of Archery, and they end with fans receiving the Maister's Teaching from Taliesin in Dragon's Dogma 2's Sacred Arbor.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Thief Maister's Teachings Location
There are two Maister's Teachings for the Thief vocation, Blades of the Pyre and Formless Feint, and they are both earned in Dragon's Dogma 2's Nameless Village. For the uninitiated, that village is located to the northeast of Vernworth, and players should speak with Flaude in the large building at the north end to receive the first skill. Fans should then descend into the Nameless Village Depths, via the hole that is just northwest of Flaude's position, navigate the underground obstacle course, and talk to Srail to earn the second skill.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Mage & Sorcerer Maister's Teachings Location
Dragon's Dogma 2 players who want to earn the Mage and Sorcerer Maister's Teachings must complete two quests, Spellbound and The Sorcerer's Appraisal, both of which center around giving rare books to NPCs. Here are details on how to complete both of those quests in a single playthrough, and fans will receive Celestial Paean (Mage) at the end of Spellbound and Meteoron and Maelstrom (Sorcerer) at the end of The Sorcerer's Apprentice:
- Initiate Spellbound by speaking with Trysha in Eini's Home north of Melve.
- Initiate The Sorcerer's Appraisal by speaking with Myrddin in his home in the southeast corner of Checkpoint Rest Town. Notably, players must wear the Courtly Attire to gain audience with Myrddin.
-
Use the map that is above, and the following details, to obtain the five books.
- Howling Blizzard: Loot from a chest in Waterfall Cave.
- Nation's Death Knell: Loot from a chest in Waterfall Cave.
- Fulminous Shield: Buy from Dudley, a traveling merchant near the entrance to Melve.
- Let There Be Light: Enter the second floor of Myrddin's house by jumping onto its balcony.
- Towering Earth: Given by Waldhar, an NPC that players will encounter during The Caged Magistrate, after he moves to the Gracious Hand's Vaults.
- Use the Scrap Shop in Checkpoint Rest Town to create forgeries of the books.
- Give the forgeries, which will have misspelled titles, to Myrddin to complete The Sorcerer's Appraisal and earn the Sorcerer Maister's Teachings.
- Give the originals to Trysha to complete Spellbound and earn the Mage Maister's Teaching.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Warrior Maister's Teaching Location
The Warrior Maister's Teaching, Arc of Might, is granted by Beren, a beastren that players will first encounter in Borderwatch Outpost. Beren will not provide his skill straightaway, though, and fans must follow these steps to earn it:
- Visit Beren's Tent, west of the Borderwatch Outpost, and speak with him to initiate Claw Them Into Shape.
- Complete Dragon's Dogma 2's Claw Them Into Shape quest.
- Pass time and return to Beren's Tent to initiate Beren's Final Lesson.
- Complete Beren's Final Lesson.
- Speak with Beren at his childhood home, which is just south of Checkpoint Rest Town.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Trickster Maister's Teaching Location
Players can earn Dragon's Dogma 2's Trickster vocation by speaking with Luz at the Reverent Shrine, which is situated between Checkpoint Rest Town and Bakbattahl. Once the vocation has been unlocked, players should climb the ladder on the shrine's exterior and speak with Luz on the roof to receive the Trickster Maister's Teaching, Dragon's Delusion.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Mystic Spearhand Maister's Teaching Location
Players can earn the Mystic Sperhand Maister's Teaching, Wild Furie, by traveling to Dragonsbreath Tower in southwest Battahl and working with Dragon's Dogma 2's Sigurd to dispatch the lesser drake that is found there. Notably, if a player does not receive the skill when the fight comes to an end, they should simply visit Sigurd's house in Harve Village and give him a
Wyrmslife Crystal.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Magick Archer Maister's Teaching Location
The Magick Archer Maister's Teaching, Martyr's Bolt, is awarded when the Magick Archer vocation in Dragon's Dogma 2 is unlocked. This requires players to pass through Drabnir's Grotto and complete several quests on the other side, and the guide that has just been linked will help them through that process.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Warfarer Maister's Teaching Location
Players will receive the Warfarer Maister's Teaching, Rearmament, by speaking with Lamond at the hot springs near the Volcanic Island Camp after they have unlocked the Warfarer vocation. Notably, Lamond is the NPC that provides the quest that leads to the unlocking of Warfarer, and players will be quite familiar with him by the time that they are ready to earn this ultimate skill.
