Portcrystals are objects in Dragon's Dogma 2 that are used to serve as points to which players can fast-travel. Fans cannot teleport to the Portcrystals immediately upon starting a playthrough, though, as they must first be activated. This guide is here to assist with that endeavor, and details on the locations of the Portcrystals in Dragon's Dogma 2 can be found in what follows.

Updated April 11th, 2024 by Russ Boswell: Portcrystals are one of the only ways to fast travel in Dragon's Dogma 2, making them a vitally important resource for players as the DD2 map is quite large. Players that want to use one of these fast-traveling stones will first need to snag a Ferrystone and also unlock the Portcrystal itself by touching it. Thankfully, there aren't many Portcrystals to unlock throughout the Dragon's Dogma 2 map. To better show players where to unlock the Portcrystals in Dragon's Dogma 2, the following guide has been updated with a video.

Dragon's Dogma 2: All Portcrystal Locations

There are two permanent Portcrystals to which a player will have access for the vast majority of a playthrough: one near the center of Vernworth and the other in the southwest corner of Harve Village. The maps and images that are above should make it easy for fans to locate those Portcrystals, and it will become possible to use Ferrystones to instantly travel to their positions once the crystals have been touched.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Point of No Return, Explained

Players who are concerned about passing the point of no return in Dragon's Dogma 2 can find all the information that they need in this guide.

Players will have access to three additional permanent Portcrystals during the section of the game immediately preceding its true ending. Those crystals are at the Sacred Arbor, Seafloor Shrine, and Agamen Volcanic Island, and they are useful for addressing Dragon's Dogma 2's Halls of the First Dawn quest.

Dragon's Dogma 2: How to Get Portable Portcrystals

Players who want to have opportunities for fast travel beyond what is offered by the two permanent Portcrystals will need to rely on portable Portcrystals. Indeed, those valuable implements can be placed almost anywhere on Dragon's Dogma 2's map, and fans who are thoughtful about where they put their portable Portcrystals will have the ability to quickly reach any location. For those fans who find that idea intriguing, here are details on how to obtain every portable Portcrystal in the game:

  1. Complete Feast of Deception, a main quest that concludes the Vernworth storyline.
  2. Speak with Glyndwr near the smithy in Vernworth. Give him a bow to initiate the Gift of the Bow quest. Complete the Gift of the Bow, speak with Glyndwr again to initiate A Trial of Archery, and complete it.
  3. Collect from the Forested Griffin's Nest along the south edge of the Misty Marshes. Players can reach this location by entering the Misty Marshes from the east side, following the path to the Riftstone of Perseverance, and traveling south from there.
  4. Visit Dragon's Dogma 2's Sphinx and solve her Riddle of Madness.
  5. Accept the Sphinx's Riddle of Conviction, and give her a portable Portcrystal to have it duplicated.
  6. Buy a portable Portcrystal from the Dragonforged, a vendor who is first encountered during the Flickering Shadows quest, for 20 WLC.

One final thing to mention is that Dragon's Dogma 2 players cannot use the Scrap Store in Checkpoint Rest Town to duplicate their portable Portcrystals. Indeed, while Ibrahim will attempt to create a forgery of the item, the result, a "Partcrystal," is not functional. Fans will thus need to be satisfied with having just five portable Portcrystals, though that should be enough to cover most of the map.
