As players peruse their quest logs in Dragon's Dogma 2, they may find that there are hand icons next to some of their current quests. While it is not requisite that players ever understand exactly what those icons mean, some fans will definitely be curious about them.
This guide is here to address that curiosity, and details about the meaning of the quest hand icons in Dragon's Dogma 2 can be found in what follows.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Quest Hand Symbols Guide
There are three possible hand icons in Dragon's Dogma 2, and they are all used to indicate whether a pawn in the player's party has knowledge of the associated quest.

Blue Hand |
The player's main pawn has knowledge of the quest |
|
Orange Hand with Roman Numeral "I" |
The first hired pawn has knowledge of the quest |

Orange Hand with Roman Numeral "II" |
The second hired pawn has knowledge of the quest |
With respect to exactly what it means for a pawn to have knowledge of a quest, that status allows them to lead Dragon's Dogma 2's Arisen to quest objectives. Indeed, if a player sets a quest with a hand icon as their primary quest and then instructs their pawns to "go," they will find that the knowledgeable pawn springs into action. Fans will know that this has occurred if a hand icon appears next to the pawn's name, and they should feel free to follow them to advance their primary quest.
Players should now have a solid understanding of just how important it is to have access to pawns that are knowledgeable about the quests that they are undertaking, and it can certainly be quite difficult to complete quests in Dragon's Dogma 2 that are not marked with a hand icon. Fortunately, it is very easy to find knowledgeable pawns with the help of Riftstone's Advanced Search feature, and here is exactly how that is done:
- Use the Quest Log to set a priority quest.
- Interact with a Riftstone to enter the Rift.
- Examine the Riftstone from within the Rift to open the Rifstone menu.
- Select Search for Pawn -> Advanced Pawn Search.
- Tick the box under Quest Knowledge, and execute the search.
Fans should now find that every pawn that appears in the Rift is capable of acting as a guide for the quest that was made a priority. All that is left to do now is hire a desirable pawn, making sure to select one with a Dragon's Dogma 2 vocation that will prove helpful to the party, and allow them to lead with the "go" command.
