Capcom's Dragon's Dogma originally launched for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2012. An enhanced version with more content called Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen debuted the following year, adding PC to the license's range of formats. The game has since been ported to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, allowing even more players to enjoy it.
The franchise went on to have an MMO launched in Japan and a Netflix animated series based on the game. Fans can keep their gameplay experience fresh by checking out these awesome PC mods.
Updated on April 21, 2024, by Ritwik Mitra: The launch of Dragon's Dogma 2 has been marred with controversy, but even its harshest critics can't deny the fact that this title has a lot of good things going for it when things actually work. The console releases have been fairly decent, with players loving the action-packed combat and fun traversal of this game, with the fantasy world being a blast to explore. It helps that the setup of the plot is pretty interesting, even if some people feel like this narrative is just an excuse for players to slice and dice anything in sight. Once Capcom fixes the many issues present in this title, there's no denying that Dragon's Dogma 2 will go down as one of the best action RPGs players can get their hands on. Until this happens, players are better off playing the original Dragon's Dogma with a swath of mods to make things feel as fresh and engaging as possible.

Any mod that adds custom content to Dragon's Dogma 2 needs to be integrated with great finesse for players to actually feel compelled to use these armor sets instead of just ignoring them after going through the trouble of installing said mod. Thankfully, Descent of the Angels is a great custom set of armor that players can download to make their version of the Arisen look as angelic as possible.
The only drawback of this armor is that it's only for female characters, which can be a bit of a sore spot for players who want their male Arisen to enjoy a new suit of armor. However, this is a small complaint in the grand scheme of things, and the sheer fun factor of wearing this unique armor set to school most enemies while looking awe-inspiring in the process is something that a lot of fans will appreciate.

Dragon's Dogma is certainly a video game that has aged pretty well in some departments, but its graphics haven't been privy to such treatment. While it's understandable why a game that was released more than a decade ago wouldn't really boast the best graphics in modern times, this doesn't mean that players have to just bear these muddy visuals with no solution in sight.
While the hope for a Dragon's Dogma remaster may be dead right now, there are passionate modders who've done a great job of improving the graphics in this game in their own ways. This particular mod is a massive achievement in this regard, improving almost every set of armor in the game and improving their textures so that they look better on modern systems. The mod author has expressed interest in a fan-made remaster of the game that is yet to see the light of day, so players will just have to make do with this mod for now.

An odd trend that accompanied most games back in the day was that most pre-rendered cutscenes featured a lower level of quality on PCs in comparison to consoles. Dragon's Dogma is no exception to this golden rule, with the PS4 cinematics running at 1080p (as it should) while the PC version has been limited to 720p cutscenes that can feel rather jarring to look at when compared to the in-engine gameplay and cutscenes.

Once players finally get their fill of Dragon's Dogma 2, the following games are a great place to get the ball rolling again.
This simple mod rips the movies from the PS4 version of Dragon's Dogma, replacing the PC cinematics and letting players enjoy higher resolutions that make this aspect of the game less grating to look at. Barring a few instances where black bars were added and some on-screen text was removed, this mod is the best way to enjoy Dragon's Dogma for players who don't want a single aspect of this game to be bogged down when it comes to visual fidelity.

The magic that players have access to in Dragon's Dogma is pretty great in its own right, with mages and sorcerers being a blast to control. However, after using these spells over and over again, fans would appreciate the opportunity to try out something different.
While Magickal Modifications doesn't add new spells per se, what it does is change the function of existing spells to make them different and stronger. It's a simple yet fun mod to download for players who want to enjoy something different during their playthrough of Dragon's Dogma.

There's something oddly alluring about wielding a massive blade in battle that never ceases to be engaging in any video game. Dragon's Dogma is no exception here, even if some people would've liked a more robust movement while using a Greatsword.
This is possible with a mod that changes everything from basic moves to the various skills players can use with a Greatsword. It also allows players to equip an invisible shield and use its abilities, letting players make the most of a warrior character that specializes in brute force.

Berserk is one of the most popular manga ever made, and the loss of Kentaro Miura was a bitter pill to swallow for most fans. Dragon's Dogma came around the time when The Golden Age movies were coming, setting the stage for a great crossover between both games on the original version of this title on PS3 and Xbox 360.
These armor sets were absent on modern consoles for a while but can be enjoyed once more with the advent of this mod. Roleplaying as Guts, Casca, or Griffith becomes a cinch after players install this mod.

The hair in Dragon's Dogma is pretty serviceable and gets the job done, but some people would want more than the bare minimum in this regard. So, it's only a given that a mod exists that allows players to increase the texture of the hairs and bears in the game, giving them a better and more detailed look that augments the style of a game that can look drab at points.
The higher-resolution textures aren't too much of a burden on most modern GPUs and go a long way in making Dragon's Dogma look better than the vanilla version. It's a small but welcome change that fans of more high-fidelity textures who are particular about the graphics in their video games would love.

Dragon's Dogma is a fast-paced game where a single misstep can have dire consequences for the player. After all, enemies can be quite rapid, and it's imperative to either get the first hit in combat or dodge around with great proficiency to not be taken down in a few blows or so. This is why some people don't prefer being an outright sorcerer, since these spells can take a while to cast, leaving them open to attack.
This is where the Cast Faster mod will prove to be a huge help. This mod buffs the Articulacy augment to cast magic even faster, making the Mage, Sorcerer, Magick Archer, and Mystic Knight class more viable than ever before. Weaving spells like a master and watching enemies fall to a heap makes for a great time that never ceases to be satisfying.

The armor in Dragon's Dogma is pretty practical and looks great, but some fans would always want their attire to be a bit more personalized to their tastes. For these fans, the Fashion's Dogma mod is the way to go.
It's a simple mod that tweaks most of the armor in the game, even if the majority of armor changes are reserved for female characters. Players should be forewarned that a lot of the armor in this mod can be a bit too revealing and fanservice-y, so anyone downloading this mod should think twice if immersion is something they are very particular about.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen's combat system is deep and satisfying, although it would be nice if some of the game's quests resulted in better rewards. Greater Rewards is a convenient download for those looking to earn riches quickly in Capcom's game.
The Dragon's Dogma mod comes with three levels of reward amplification: x2, x5, and x10. Now, there are reports of this mod not working with some of the later versions of the game, so it is recommended to stick to an earlier patched version of Dragon's Dogma.
