Dredge: The Pale Reach DLC Walkthrough

Dredge's The Pale Reach DLC adds a brand-new area to the game, and there are five Pursuits associated with it. While fans can complete the DLC's main story without addressing all those quests, there is an achievement associated with doing so. This guide is here to help players earn that achievement, and it details how to initiate and complete all the Pursuits in Dredge's The Pale Reach DLC.

To note, before players start attempting to address the Pale Reach Pursuits, they should make sure to stop by Bleak Pontoon in the bottom-right corner of square I, -1. At this location, fans should use the Shipyard to install a Rod that is capable of catching Ice fish and then visit the Icy Worksite in order to initiate the Icebreaker Pursuit.

Dredge: The Pale Reach - The Narwahl Pursuit

After the preliminary visit to the Bleak Pontoon, players should travel southward into the icy region in order to encounter a small boat near the top-right corner of square I, -3. Dredge's Photographer is on that vessel, and speaking with her will initiate the Narwahl Pursuit. This Pursuit is completed by interacting with the nearby cracked ice barrier and filling it with fish, and players will become quite familiar with this action as they work through the Pale Reach DLC.

After resolving the Narwahl Pursuit, players are advised to collect the Pale Reach's map by visiting the Central Camp (I, -4) and interacting with the Frozen Cabin.

Dredge: The Pale Reach - Icebreaker Pursuit

Players should now set their sights on completing the Icebreaker Pursuit that they initiated when they visited the Icy Worskite at the Bleak Pontoon. This Pursuit in Dredge centers around collecting three Icebreaker parts, which can be pulled from dredge spots in squares F, -4; I, -4; and J, -6. Notably, the parts at coordinates F, -4 and J, -6 are blocked by cracked ice barriers, and players can destroy those walls by filling them with fish (as was done during the Narwahl pursuit).

With all three Icebreaker parts obtained, players should return to the Bleak Pontoon and use the components at the Icy Worksite. This will lead to the completion of the Icebreaker Pursuit, and the Traveling Merchant will attach the new device to the player's boat.

Dredge: The Pale Reach - Ice Shaper Pursuit

Once the Icebreaker Pursuit has been resolved, players can interact with the Icy Worksite once again to start the Ice Shaper Pursuit. Fans of Lovecraftian horror games can complete this Pursuit by traveling to square H, -3, dredging the spot that they find there, and returning the device that they pull from the depths to the Icy Worksite.

Dredge: The Pale Reach - Under the Ice Pursuit

This is the main Pursuit in Dredge's The Pale Reach DLC, and players are equipped to complete it as soon as they have installed the Icebreaker on their boats. Here are the steps that fans should take to address this Pursuit, and they will receive the Radiant Trawl Net as a reward when they reach the end:

Interact with the Ice Shard at the Central Camp, Western Bearing, Eastern Terminus, or Southern Locus to initiate the Pursuit.

Collect four Ice Axes from the dredge spots at coordinates J, -4; K, -4; F, -5; and G, -7.

Use those Ice Axes to break the Ice Shards at the Central Camp, Western Bearing, Eastern Terminus, and Southern Locus.

Interact with the frozen Rock Slab in square K, -4, and insert the four Frozen Hearts that were awarded upon breaking the Ice Shards into it.

Dredge: The Pale Reach - Figure in White Pursuit

After completing the Under the Ice Pursuit, players should head to the Bleak Pontoon, install the Radiant Trawl Net that they have just received, and load up on Crab Pots. Fans should then travel to coordinates K, -5 and interact with the camp on the shore to start the Figure in White Pursuit. Fans will complete this Dredge Figure Pursuit by delivering three Pale Reach aberrations to the Figure in White, and here are details on how to catch them:

Aberrated Icefish (Fractalline Icefish): Deploy the Radiant Trawl Net and sail around the icy area until one is caught.
Aberrated Sea Stars (Fallen Stars): Deploy as many Dredge Crab Pots as possible in the waters around the Central Camp. Rest at the Central Camp to reduce the amount of real-world time that it takes for those Pots to yield results.
Aberrated Stargazer (Craterous Seer): Deploy the Radiant Trawl Net and sail around the icy area until one is caught.
