With Sandworms and large desert storms to watch out for, there is more than enough danger in Dune: Awakening. However, on top of avoiding these perils and constantly searching for water, there's also fall damage to consider, a common source of concern in exploration games.

Is There Fall Damage In Dune: Awakening?

Simply put, there is fall damage in Dune: Awakening, but it is rarely too punishing. When players fall from a large rock formation, typically the only high points, they will take some damage to their health. Unless they were already low on HP or the fall was from a tremendous height, they will not die, and even if their health reaches 0, they can simply self-revive.

However, being low on health is never good and will require players to use their healing consumables. Additionally, if they were to fall into an enemy camp, especially in a downed state, then death may be a possibility.

How To Prevent Fall Damage In Dune: Awakening

Dune Awakening - How To Prevent Fall Damage

Thankfully, there are a number of ways to prevent fall damage in Dune: Awakening, and with the correct setup, players will almost never need to think about it.

Suspensor Belts

Suspensor Belts are the number one way to avoid fall damage in Dune: Awakening, as when they are equipped, they kick in whenever a player is falling too fast. There is no button to press, as it works automatically.

Players may find Suspensor Belts when clearing scavenger camps or in other locations as loot. They can also research the schematics and produce them using a Fabricator in the base. As with all equipment, better versions can be researched and made. In this case, superior Suspensor Belts often have extra effects, such as enhanced jumps, and they may or may not use less power and attract Sandworms less.

As they use up Power, players will also want to make sure they have a decent Power Pack and don't use too much Power before jumping down. It's also important to repair Suspensor Belts and other items, using a Repair Station at the base. The Suspensor Training tree for Troopers can also help enhance Suspensors.

Dune Awakening - What's the Max Level Cap

While there is a level cap in Dune: Awakening, players won't have to worry about it for some time.

Use The Shigawire Claw Or Other Abilities

The Shigawire Claw ability for Troopers is easily one of the best, acting as a grappling hook. If players are falling and about to lose health, they can use the Shigawire Claw on the ground to lift them up slightly, breaking the fall.

Other abilities, such as the Trooper's Anti-Gravity Field, also work.

Cling Onto Rocks

If players find themselves in a pickle without a Suspensor Belt or anything else to stop them from falling, it's always worth trying to cling onto some rocks or any other surface. This is done by holding A/Cross or Space. Players may be able to climb down then, or at least drop from a lower height.
