Intel points are a crucial material you can collect while exploring Arrakis in Dune: Awakening. It works like a currency that you can spend to unlock more stuff to facilitate your journey. It can be weapons, machines, or armor that become accessible after spending some Intel points.
Unlike other materials that can be bought from the Tradepost or found inside chests while raiding small enemy camps in Dune: Awakening, Intel points are scattered around the Arrakis in physical form. It cannot be found inside chests or picked up from bodies, as you need to interact with a hologram to gain Intel as points.
How To Get Intel Points In Dune Awakening
To get Intel points in Dune: Awakening, you need to search inside Enemy Outposts in Arrakis or level up. Enemy Outposts can be seen on the map as an icon with three small houses. These are large enemy camps that contain a lot of good loot but are equally guarded by many bandits. One of the best loots you can find inside is Intel points, which are a hologram, usually hidden in corners. Players need to search the Camp Outpost thoroughly to find the hologram.
By progressing through the main story and completing the main quests, you will eventually unlock the Surveying Kit. After launching the Survey Probe from a high place using the Launcher, the hidden part of the map will unlock, and most areas of interest will appear. Now, players can see where all Camp Outposts are located, how many Intel Points can be found inside, and if you collected them before or not.
Leveling up will also reward players with Intel Points. You can increase your level by completing quests and discovering new points of interest.
Where To Use Intel In Dune Awakening
Intel points are only used to unlock new tools in the Research Menu in Dune: Awakening. Each weapon, armor, and machine requires a certain number of Intel Points. While sometimes you have the required amount, some of the tools are also locked behind certain quests, so keep that in mind.
There are seven categories in the Research Menu you can spend Intel points on: Essentials, Water Discipline, Combat, Construction, Exploration, Vehicles, and Uniques. Each category possesses tools that will help with a certain problem players will face while exploring in Dune: Awakening.
