Dungeonborne offers daily, weekly, and seasonal quests to give players useful rewards while playing. One of the weekly quests players will see will be to dismantle Uncommon or higher rarity items.

Dismantling old gear is the first step in crafting your own gear, which will often be better than what you find randomly in a dungeon. Basic gear a character spawns with can't be dismantled, making your first goal to extract with a few weapons or armor pieces in your inventory, no matter what class they go towards.

Dungeonborne has eight classes for players to choose from when making their character; but can you switch classes later?

How To Dismantle Uncommon Or Higher Rarity Items

Dismantling is done at the blacksmith, which is found in the Heirloom option of the camp menu along the far left side of the top menu. The first menu will be the dismantle menu, with players only needing to press the red button with a hammer in the middle to get started. Pressing this button turns your cursor into the dismantle button, and selecting an item will instantly dismantle it in an unrecoverable way.

There are buttons to dismantle by rarity, but it's best to do so individually to make sure you don't accidentally dismantle something you meant to keep. Along the right side of the screen will be your inventory, with the top tab letting you dismantle straight from your stash. Uncommon gear is represented by the color green, magic with blue, and epic with purple. To complete the weekly quest, just breaking down green weapons is more than enough without needing to break something of higher value.

Material Rarities & Crafting Gear

There are four crafting materials that are also classified by rarity:

  • Rough White Iron - Common - Gray
  • Ilmenite Ore - Uncommon - Green
  • Refined Steel Ore - Magic - Blue
  • Star Fragment - Epic - Purple

Each material is obtained when players dismantle gear of the same rarity. Common gear can be broken down, just not the basic gear your character spawns with. When crafting Heirlooms in Dungeonborne, players can choose between two resources for which they want to use. The first option will be the resources of the same rarity of the gear piece you want to craft, with that option requiring a good few to craft.

Should you choose the other option and want to use a lower-quality material to craft a higher-quality piece of gear, you'll need to spend more than double. This can make it easy for players looking to finally get items of the next rarity, but the cost is very steep for gear that can be so easily lost. If you do spend a lot on gear, it's best to play with friends to have the best chance of survival.
