Dying Light: The Beast has brought back the weapon modifications to their full glory, and players are eager to know how many mods there are and where to find the best ones. Some mods are activated by following special conditions, such as charging up hits or connecting Critical Hits. That's something players need to keep in mind before picking the best for their weapons.
In other words, there's a right mod for every occasion (and weapon), but players are free to experiment with various combinations and affixes, to see which ones are right for their playstyle. But first things first: Where to find all these mods? Some appear as players progress through the story, but others need to be located specifically by clearing certain points of interest. In this guide, players will learn where every Mod is in Castor Wood, and what effects they apply to weapons.
All Mods In Dying Light: The Beast
Mods can be placed in three different slots in weapons: Tip, Shaft, and Grip. There's a fourth group/slot that belongs to Charms, but those are an entirely different thing. Players need to know that not all weapons (except swords) have a slot for Grip mods, and not all of them allow the three types to be placed at the same time. With that in mind, players might also find that placing a Tip and Shaft mod with the same properties (for example, Slaughter and Slit) will double the effect of the mods when these activate, empowering the killing potential of the weapon.
It is also worth mentioning that Mods are only applicable to regular weapons (even Legendary Grade ones), but not for Firearms or Special Legendary Weapons like the EXPCalibur II. Clearing POIs and completing Quests is the best way to find new mods, but just in case, here's a list of all mods available in Castor Woods, as well as indications on their exact location:
