For those who are already trying Dying Light: The Beast and wondering which Mods will improve their gameplay experience, there's a lot of awesome tweaks, fixes, and improvements they can install in their game folder to make things more interesting. Of course, installing mods will automatically disable achievements, so this is something players need to know before proceeding.
But, if they are ready to install some of the best Gameplay Mods for Dying Light: The Beast, then this list will help them pinpoint the most awesome ones currently available in Nexus Mods and other sources. Remember that installing Mods might require some fine-tuning, so pay attention to each of the mod's installation notes, and always do a backup of the game files in case something fails.
Easy Lockpicking
Tired of Being Interrupted While Looting? Download This Mod
Have players ever tried lockpicking while the world ends? It's not so easy to open a chest, a locker, or a door leading to a Safe Zone, while Zombies and Virals try to grab and eat their hands (and probably their necks and brains). This mod improves the speed of lockpicking or directly disables the animation, making Kyle Crane an expert locksmith who will instantly open any locked door, chest, or locker.
Created by the modder 'sekurovich,' Easy Lockpick can be downloaded from Nexus Mods, though it's not compatible with Vortex, and needs to be manually installed.
Don't Grab Me Mod
Greatly Reduces The Chance Of Having A Zombie Grabbing Spree
One of the most annoying things about zombies in Dying Light: The Beast, is that they are quite intense. They not only have a ludicrous detection radius (which guarantees they will detect Kyle if he is in the nearby zone, unless he is in stealth mode), but they can also grapple him with ease. This ends up becoming annoying the more players dive into Castor Woods, and the more the population of undead foes increases.
Enters 'Don't Grab Me Mod,' made by 'VAXIS,' which allows players to tune down zombie grabbing to 50% or reduce it to practically zero. Volatiles will still pin players down if they catch them running around at night, but this Mod truly delivers in easing up the grabbing issue of the ravenous Biters.
Infinite Weapon Durability Mod
No More Destroyed Weapons, No More Wasting Resources
Nothing is more disheartening in Dying Light: The Beast than having one of the coolest Legendary Weapons in the game, and having to replace it constantly because it breaks. Well, with this Infinite Durability Weapon mod made by 'RGB,' players won't have to worry about their EXPCalibur II breaking mid-fight.
This Mod (as many of the mods for DL The Beast) is quite simple to install: Just download the files, then look for the ph_ft/source folder in the directory where the game is installed, then drop the Data2.pak in it.
Infinite Stamina & More
Run & Fight To Your Heart's Content
Running around and getting tired all the time? No problem. With the Infinite Stamina Mod made by 'argisht', players can solve this problem entirely. This mod not only grants infinite stamina to climb, roll, slide, dash, and fight however players want. It can also turn Beast Mode Duration into Infinite, grant the Beast Fist Weapon (which can be equipped in any weapon slot), and grant Infinite Durability on the rest of the weapons.
It is a pretty versatile mod that offers so much more than just Infinite Stamina. It has an optative file to also grant Infinite Ammo, though for bows and crossbows, players will need to have at least one of each special arrow (or bolt) in their inventories to make them work properly.
To Install Mods in Dying Light: The Beast, search for the source folder (usually steamapps\commons\Dying Light The Beast\ph_ft\source). Players can go ahead and paste this in their Explorer if they cannot find the correct folder.
Better Flashlight
Because The Night Is Dark And Full Of Volatiles
Another huge problem in Dying Light: The Beast, is that its Flashlight doesn't illuminate all too well. For a game with so many dark places to explore (even the darkest, deepest areas of the woodlands), having a torchlight that doesn't work is not fun at all. But this mod fixes it, with improved light radius, particles, and longer reach.
This mod, made by 'Kattax,' can also be downloaded from Nexus Mods, and the author has released the rights for othe modders to tweak it up to their own taste. Meaning, if anyone is willing to further increase the efficiency (and illumination) of Kyle Crane's flashlight, they can use the files created by Kattax as a base to create the ultimate illumination gadget.
Auto Active Landing Mod
No More Failed Landings For Kyle Crane
Active-Landing is one of the must-have Agility Skills that players need to unlock if they want to survive in Dying Light: The Beast. The problem is that one in every three times, players won't time the action key correctly, because it's too damn hard to calculate the distance in the middle of a Chase (more so at night, being hunted by a conga line of Volatiles).
The Auto Active Landing Mod by HellRazOoR fixes this problem with an auto-landing script that automatically nails the perfect landing timing, ensuring players can keep momentum even while dropping from the maximum altitude. This mod is incredibly useful, but has a catch: Some other mods might have a file named 'data.pack' on them, so the creator advises players to change the name of the data.pack file this Mod contains (example: data.pack2) before dropping it in the source folder.
